They retook an airport in one of more than a dozen locations that rebels have seized in more than a week. And these provocations in Eastern Ukraine is creating a situation in which the government has to respond. The best way to deescalate this situation is for the armed military to leave the buildings they seized. Many say they organized it. As Elaine Quijano reports, he stayed in contact with some of the victims of the attack. Reporter the day the bombs went off at the Boston Marathon, veteran boston globe photographer John Tlumacki took more than 200 photos. I have trouble going back to the finish line of the marathon because i can visualize where everybody was when i photographed them. Reporter he was especially haunted by the images he took of 17yearold Sidney Corcoran and her 48 mother celeste. Shrapnel shattered sidneys arteries. By photographing them, i felt like i took advantage of them even though i was doing my job, that i was guilty of maybe depriving them of their dignity. Reporter tlumacki felt compelled to meet them. Two weeks later when he finally did, he apologized. I didnt want to have that image in my head of them lying on the ground. I needed a new picture of them, and i asked them if i could take a picture of them, and they just kind of looked at each other and smiled. They grew closer as he documented their recovery. What are some of the moments that stood out to you . One of first times celeste stood up without holding onto anything. That was day one of celeste being energized, being courageous, being boston strong. He witnessed the milestone the day sidney left the hospital. To just be in my brothers car and to be out of the hospital and know i was going home and i was just so ecstatic like i through my arms up like, all right, take me home. Five days later celeste came home. They wheeled me in and i threw my arms up in the air like she did and said, yes, im home. Reporter another favorite was the night of sidneys senior prom. There were times we didnt think wed ever be that happy again or even just be here physically. To be able to look back and see that, theres a certain triumph in it because you feel like youve overcome this greatest obstac obstacle. Do you feel absolved of your guilt now . I do.
