Theyre calling and emailing those affected, but making this even more complicated is that roughly 50,000 have alreadye filed their taxes. The government says they should be ready with the correct information by early next month, but its all reminiscent of lasts d years debacle when the federal web site crashed multiple times during their launch. Reporter jurors this week saw two faces of confessed killer eddie routh the marine in uniform standing next to his mother, the other a man who was spiraling out of control. For a murder conviction, prosecutors must prove he is a man who knew right from wrong. Today they called psychologist randall price to the stand. He evaluated roth and suggested the shooting was triggered by heavy alcohol and marijuana use. He said, routh did know what he was doing was wrong and he did it anyway. I he testified routh said, when i shot them, i thought, jesus christ what, have i done . And then i became immediately remorseful. On thursday, defense witness dr. Mitchell dunn told jurors he believes ralph suffers fromlu schizophrenia and was delusional. He testified that ralph told him he, began to think that both mr. Kyle and mr. Littlefield were some type of pig assassins, hybrid pigs sent here to kill people. Dunn said routh told him he felt threatened when he saw kyles weapons and he testified he said, he thought he would have to kill them or be killed. In court today, the victims family members became visibly upset when details of the shootings were discussed. Federal investigations of the shooting and the department are wrapping up, and Dean Reynolds sat down with the chief today. One person struck and killed. Another hurt badly after a hit andrun accident in oakland. It happened at 32nd and san pablo at about 3 30 this afternoon. Kpix 5s Christin Ayers has new information about what happened. Christin. Reporter yes. We just heard from the family members of the victim of the man who died in this accident that the two cars one of the cars that hit the two gentlemen were involved in a race down san pablo avenue. If you look behind me you can see the sedan that struck one of the victims there. That is the car that, um, the suspect was in when he hit one of these young men. He the person who was driving the car actually jumped out of the car and took off down this street on foot. The person who died in the accident, his body wound up in the bed of a pickup truck along here at the scene. Authorities are not confirming a lot for us this evening. They want to talk to witnesses in the area to find out exactly what happened today. But again as family members saying this was a street racing accident. There are no suspects in custody at the moment. There is one victim who has been taken to a hospital tonight. But the young man to died tonight we talked to his family. They identified him as maurice sommer field. They say that he was someone in the area who lived around here in west oakland and was a giving generous guy who knew a lot of people in the area.
