Back in port after an extreme wind gust led to multiple injuries on board. This is crazy. Glor and from homeless to worldclass musician, now sharing what hes learned along the way. Every day, i get to make a difference in a kids life. Glor good evening, im jeff glor. And this is our western edition. We are going to begin here tonight with an interview many have been waiting for. R. Kellys first since being charged with sexual abuse last month. Gayle king of cbs this morning just spoke with kelly. The charges against the singer involve four women, three of whom were underage allegedly at the time. In an interview that just wrapped a short time ago, kelly told gayle the accusations are lies. We have two clips here. Here is the first. Reporter they are still talking about you with underaged girls. Do you still sit here and say you have never been with underaged girls . Can you really say that . I sit here and say this i had two cases back then that i said in the beginning of the interview that i would not talk about, because of my ongoing case now, all right. Reporter okay. Fair enough. Reporter okay. But i will tell you this people are going back to my past, okay. Thats exactly what theyre doing. Theyre going back to the past, and theyre trying to add all of this stuff now to that, to make all of this stuff thats going on now feels real to people. Reporter but the past is relevant with you with underaged girls. Absolutely no, its not. Reporter why . Because for one, i beat my case. When you beat something reporter you were acquitted. You were acquitted. We cant double jeopardy me like that. We cant its not fair. Its not fair to nobody. When you beat your case, you beat your case. Reporter but im not talking about the one case in which you were acquitted. Im talking about the other cases where women have come forward and said, r. Kelly had sex with me when i was under the age of 18. R. Kelly was abusive to me, emotionally and physically and verbally. Okay. Reporter r. Kelly took me in a black room where unspeakable things happened. This is what theyre saying about you. Not true. Reporter these are not old rumors. Not true, whether theyre old rumors, new rumors, not true. Reporter why would they say those things about you . Future rumors, not true. Glor kelly became much more emotional as gayle continued her questioning. Here is more of that. Reporter and correct me if i am wrong, that you have never held anybody against their will. I dont need to. Why would i . Reporter well how stupid would that be for r. Kelly, with all ive been through in my way, way past, to hold somebody let alone four, five, six 50 you said. How stupid would i be to do that . Reporter i didnt say you were holding thats stupid, guys is this camera on me . Reporter yes, its on you. Thats stupid use your common sense dont forget the blogs. Forget how you feel about me. Hate me if you want to. Love me if you want, but just use your common sense. How stupid would it be for me to, with my crazy past and what ive been through oh, right now, i just think i need to be a monster and hold girls against their will, chain them up in my basement, and dont let them eat and dont let them out unless they need some shoes down the street from their uncle. Reporter robert stop it. All you quit playing. Quit playing. Reporter robert i didnt do this stuff this is not me im fighting for my bleep life glor there is much, much more to this interview that will air on cbs this morning tomorrow and thursday. Gayle is on her way back from chicago tonight, so Jericka Duncan joins us now. Unreal, jericka, some of what we saw this afternoon. Again, more will be on tomorrow on cbs this morning. But you followed this case extensively. Talk about what youve seen this afternoon. Reporter well, you know, i watched this entire interview. It was about an hour and 20 minutes long. And i can tell you, it is compelling. I mean, you saw just from that video how emotional he got, and theres so much more. But i was at the bond hearing, and the arraignment, a couple of weeks ago. And i was there as i watched, at least one of the women that hes charged with sexually abusing, cry as some of the charges were read. You know, hes facing some serious allegations here. That woman that i spoke to said it was b. S. She thought that he even had an opportunity to get out on bail. And i was also there when he walked out of jail after posting bail. And you had people there that were supporters, people singing his music as he walked out. And then you had people there that were calling him all kinds of names because they believe these women who have said that they were sexually abused by him. Glor so what is next for him right now . Reporter well, he has a court date on march 22. He is facing 10 counts of aggravated sexual abuse. That could carry up to 70 years behind bars. Were talking four victims, including three minors, dating back as far as 1998. Hes got over 160,000 that is due in child support. The big takeaway for me from this interview is that he is very angry, that he is sad by some of these allegations that hes hearing about. Glor okay, jericka, thank you very much. Again, much more of this interview, gayle kings interview with r. Kelly tomorrow and thursday on cbs this morning. Tonight, we can share more of the names and faces of those lost in a devastating tornado in alabama on sunday. Of the 23 who were killed, four were children. The youngest was six. A. J. Hernandez was ripped from his fathers arms two days after singing in his school musical. David dean, nicknamed roaddog, texted a friend that the storm was coming. Deans son found his fathers body in a neighbors yard. Sheila creech and Marshall Grimes were recently engaged. More than 48 hours later, some are still unaccounted for. Omar villafranca is there. Reporter did you feel it move . Oh, yeah i felt it. Reporter alina smith and her two children took cover in the bathroom, moments before an e. F. 4 tornado with 170mile perhour winds tore through their neighborhood. I just said my prayers, and i i felt in that moment i was just at peace, that we were getting ready to go. Reporter you thought that was it. That was it. Reporter the storm killed 23, including seven from the same family, all related to her boyfriend. Two houses down, 63yearold Raymond Robinson jr. And his wife, tresia, were killed when the tornado leveled their home. Across the street, First Responders found the body of 57yearold maggie robinson. What is it like knowing that you had people pass over here but you guys were able to survive here . Right, right, right. Reporter what is that like . Its just its mind blowing. Im still in shock. Reporter searchandrescue crews are still looking for people who are missing, but instead of a wide area, theyre going to individual addresses and sifting through the debris trying to find people who family members say are still missing. Lee county sheriff jay jones at this point the current number were looking at is approximately seven to eight people, its come down way down, actually from what we initially had. Reporter it will take months for beauregard residents to recover from something many say theyll never forget. Is this neighborhood ever going to be the same . No, it will never be the same. Reporter what do you do . I dont know. Im trying to figure it out. Reporter the tornado was so powerful, the only thing thats left of Maggie Robinsons home is her front porch, and only part of her foundation. The president is expected to come and visit the tornado victims on friday. Jeff. Glor all right, omar, thank you very much. Police in london tonight are on the lookout for more explosive devices after three were found today at major transportation hubs in the city. Roxana saberi is following this story. Reporter this photo appears to show the package with heart shaped stamps and a dublin return address mailed to a Heathrow Airport office. It ignited, police say, when staff opened it this morning. They say a similar package was discovered almost two hours later in the mailroom at londons waterloo train station, and a third a half hour later in an office at london city airport. Authorities say no one was injured by the small improvised explosive devices inside, and only one train line was briefly suspended. But transport police did say that passengers, like the ones here at waterloo station, are the eyes and ears of the network and asked them to report back if they see anything suspicious. Scotland yard believes the three incidents are linked, and theyre working with the irish police. They are collaborating together to try and determine who sent these packages, and what was the purpose of them being sent to these destinations. This is not the acts of a hobbyist or an amateur. Reporter police say theyre keeping an open mind about the motives. Roxana saberi, cbs news, london. Glor House Democrats vote this week on a resolution condemning antisemitism and bigotry. It is widely seen as a rebuke of one of their own, minnesota freshman ilhan omar. Nancy cordes has more. I know what intolerance looks like. Reporter the latest comment to land omar in hot water was this one she made at a d. C. Bookstore, slamming congressional support for israel. I want to talk about the political influence in this country that says it is okay for people to push for allegiance to a foreign country. Reporter in re, her own party drafted a fourpage resolution rejecting anti semitism. Ionir byame, it says her comments suggest that jews cannot be patriotic americans and trusted neighbors. New jersey democrat josh gothiemer. As someone who is jewish the idea you would question my loyalty to the country as a lawmaker because of my religion is, obviously, offensive and deeply hurtful. Reporter the president called it a dark day for israel, and g. O. P. Leaders urged the democrats to go further. Nancy pelosi has to remove her from the Foreign Affairs committee. Reporter Speaker Pelosi shares the cover of this months Rolling Stone with omar, who is the nations first muslim congresswoman, but pelosi also reprimanded omar last month for a tweet about a jewish lobbying group and money. I posted a statement. Reporter omar says shes being held to a double standard. Just last week, a poster was erected in the West Virginia state capitol, linking her with 9 11. We get to be called names, and we get to be labeled as hateful. No, we know what hate looks like. Yeah we experience it every single day. Reporter that argument has clearly resonated with some. Tonight, democrats say theyre going to be reworking this anti semitism resolution to include antimuslim bias as well, and they say the vote, jeff, will likely get pushed off to thursday. Glor nancy, thank you. A month after he shared his story with dr. Tara narula, a teenage rebel testified on capitol hill today about the importance of getting vaccinations. Dr. Narula is here now with an update. Reporter sitting alongside Prominent Health professionals at todays Senate Hearing was an unlikely witness. My mother would turn to anti vaccine groups online and on cial media. Reporter Ohio High School senior Ethan Lindenberger testified about his fight with his own mother to get vaccinated. For my mother, her love, care, and affection as a parent was used to push an agenda to create a false distress. Reporter we first met lindenberger last month, when he told us his mother refused to vaccinate him and his siblings because of fears about vaccine safety. He started getting vaccinated when he turned 18. For certain individuals and organizations that spread this misinformation, they instill fear into the public for their own gain, selfishly, and do so knowing that their information is incorrect. Reporter 17 states allow parents to opt out of vaccinates for nonmedical reasons. Lack of vaccinations have been blamed for measles outbreaks in five states, one of the worst in washington state. Washington state secretary of health, dr. John weisman state and local Health Departments really are the leaders to engage their communities around vaccine information. And, honestly, you know, that system is crumbling. Reporter to prop up the system and combat false information about vaccines, this week, the American Academy of pediatrics offered to help some Online Companies ensure that facts are prioritized over misinformation, and to build trust in vaccinations and their protection. What i was trying to really drive home was that we should be talking about whats true, and thats really the biggest idea. Reporter this hearing comes on the heels of the latest study finding no evidence the m. M. R. Vaccine increases the risk of autism. Thats the vaccine that protects against measles, mumps, and rubella. We counted at least 40 studies over the last 20 years finding the same thing. Jeff.
