notarangelo. a dispute among roommates left three people dead and one injured after it erupted in gunfire. it happened shortly after noon in fairfield. don knapp in fairfield. don? >> reporter: answer, the dead are two men and a woman. police say one of the dead men is the shooter. anyhave a weaponment now they are gathered outside the house as they try to work on the motive and understanding of what went on inside the house that led to the violence. an open door with a broken jam shows where fairfield police entered this home after getting a call that someone inside had shot residents. >> when officers enter the residence they determined there were two that were shot and ultimately were later determined to be deceased. there was one that was shot with a critical wound. that person was transported by air ambulance to an area trauma center. >> reporter: the critically wounded person later died. police say he was the person doing the shooting. a fourth victim was treated at hospital. police are not releasing names or details but say they believe they have all the people that were involved. >> some of the occupants inside the house we believe lived there but i don't know if everybody involved actually lived at the residence. >> reporter: this neighbor left earlier to go to a baseball game at noon. >> we left and then we found out the neighbor had been tased by the police and found out that there were two people who had been shot. >> reporter: according to this neighbor the person who was tased was just another neighbor. >> he came to tell them -- tell the police what he had seen and -- he just didn't listen. they didn't know what he was doing there is what the police told us so they kind of told him to get down and he didn't. >> reporter: the sergeant says police felt they had to enter the home and the neighbor, an older man, was interfering with their efforts. >> felt it was necessary to make entry and put a stop to the threat. >> reporter: police are not commenting on a motive nor would they answer a question concerning an alleged court order that was served at the house. >> don knapp in fairfield, thank you. well, a shooting in san jose has left two men dead and a teenager wounded. police got the call to the 3400 block around 5 a.m. this morning. officers found two men both 31 years old dead at the scene. a 17-year-old boy was taken to a local hospital and his condition is unknown. police are investigating whether the shooting was gang related. you have never seen osama bin laden like this. the pentagon released videos from the compound are with you the al-qaida leader was killed. bin laden behind the scenes. >> reporter: one of the new videos released by the u.s. government shows osama bin laden in a bare room huddled in front of a television set wrapped in a blanket. he clicks through an on screen menu and watches news about himself on the t.v. network. it is unclear when the video was shot but it appears to be from inside the pakistani compound where navy s.e.a.l.s killed bin-ladin. intelligence officials knew bin laden monitored the news but before last weekend's raid they didn't know he was able to still watch live television while in hiding. in the video bin laden's beard is streaked with grey. in others he is better groomed and his beard is died black. one is an outtake. another in front of a crude, wrinkled sheikh. bin laden clearly controlled al- qaida from inside the compound and we are getting a never before seen peek at his life. >> this is tremendous opportunity for us. >> reporter: c.i.a. director releasing a statement saying the american people expected agents to hunt down bin laden after 9/11 and "we delivered." another new video with a message to the american people that was never released shot last fall and includes attacks against capitalism. the u.s. government decided to release the pictures without audio to prevent the terrorist group from using the videos. the last time bin laden was seen on vip was in 2007. cbs news, new york. >> the material conface indicated inside the bin laden compound is the largest collection of terrorist materials ever seized. the bulk is still being analyze and kept under wraps. state senator leyland lee declared he is running for mayor. so far 36 candidates have filed papers to run for san francisco mayor. the man killed by a hit-and- run driver in san francisco friday morning has been identified as 61-year-old james hudson. hudson was crossing the sonic about 2:30 a.m. in the morning when he was hit by a speeding car. 23-year-old jose hymnenez was arrested a short distance away and faces charges of vehicular manslaughter and driving under the influence. pitching in to help rebuild a berkeley home for a couple with disabilities. the volunteers worked with skilledded workers from a group called rebuilding together a nonprofit that helps preserve affordable homeownership. the workers and volunteers modeled and retrofitted the homes so the couple could stay in the home and remain self sufficient. payday loans would be banned in san mateo county if one lawmaker gets his way. they charge an average of 400% interest on a two-week loan. critics accuse them. they will introduce legislation to ban any additional stores and then phase out the ones that exist. >> today is the day where payday loan lenders in san mateo county they are through. >> you can rest assure that all of us are not going to go to sleep until payday loans are eliminated. >> other bay area cities including pacifica and san jose are cracking down on payday loans. a glimmer of hope the summer driving decision. a break down the road for gas prices. >> i definitely would not be standing -- standing, guys, here if it wasn't for my finally hitting the brakes. in fact, they might even fall faster than they rose. analysts expect prices to drop nearly 50 cents as early as next month due to increased gas production and declining demand in the u.s. it is a symbol of hope for a troubled neighborhood. the new martin luther king jr. park was created on the side of a long neglected park. it features sports field for football and soccer, a competitive track and picnic areas. >> frankly it was a place that detracted from the neighborhood. it didn't contribute to the neighborhood and so we knew and residents knew this was one place we had to take care of. not just for the future of the kids playing but the future of the neighborhood. the park project started in 2002 and was built with nearly $3000 in public and private funds. more money needs to be raised to finish it. well, some have children serving, others have lost theirs to war. this mother's day weekend some bay area military moms gather together to help each other cope. beyond their pain, their fear and their worry is their unconditional love. how one soldier said thanks, mom. here is anne makovec with the story. >> reporter: this is the face of a mother ho didn't think she would see her son's face this mother's day. >> they did a really good job because hi no idea what was going on. >> reporter: her son is stationed in a texas rehab clinic after part of his leg was blown off in iraq in 2009. >> the first name that came to my thought was mom. what is my mom going to think? oh, man. she is not going to be happy. >> reporter: she helped nurse him back to health in texas but they haven't seen each other for months. >> mom, i definitely would not be standing -- standing, guys, here if it wasn't for my mom. >> reporter: and he wouldn't be standing here if it wasn't arranged for him. >> this is about doing something for these moms who live daily with the knowledge that their children are in harm's way. >> reporter: some of the moms here are gold star moms. moms who lost their kids at war. >> it is kind of hard because my son didn't get to come home. but i am so happy to her. for all the moms and have their sons and daughters home. it is a blessing. >> it is clear these two have some catching up to do. >> that's why i haven't been talking to you for the last week or two. >> reporter: he was afraid he would let the cat out of the bag and there is nothing like delivering a message in person. >> you were 100% me behind me. >> reporter: he is heading back to texas for another six months then is joining the wounded warriors as the record setting snow melts tonight. renting in the bay area is about to get harder. who is driving up demand. >> we haven't seen this kind of rent growth since the go-go years of 1999 and 2000. >> what every renter needs to do now. monday at 11 p.m. on cbs5. ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, state's waterways -- are warning the record snowfall will likely mean a record runoff say people that monitor the state's waterways are warning of colder, higher water in rivers and treatments streams. 104% of normal and that should mean lots of splice for farmland and residents. >> that's the problem. people get excited it starts to get hot and they start to go rafting but very dangerous when you've got all that water rushing down the rivers. i was teasing him he has done so well on forecasting the holiday so far. mother's day. record comes to a screeching halt. >> this is a tough call for mother's day. doesn't look that bad. definitely cool. yes, there is a slight chance we could see some showers outside. just plan for it. probably not the breast day to have a picnic but if you stay indoors looking pretty good or bring mom a jacket or something warm. you'll do okay. outside right now a lot of clouds making their way across our skies. you know, kind of looking threatening out there just a bit. a weak cold front diving into the bay area. late season storm so not a whole lot of energy with it. high-def doppler picking up on some of the moisture hear. this is precipitation not hitting the ground. things staying a little bit unsettled and more to come overnight and tonight. cold front moving on through. not all that impressive as it moves on through. clouds overnight tonight. behind that lots of clouds making their way through the bay area especially in the morning hours. probably drizzle early on along the coastline. partly cloudy as we head into the afternoon. cool and breezy in most spots. outside right now looking at gusty winds still. 20 to 30 miles per hour plus per hour around the bay area. 53 right now in san francisco. cool 52 in pacifica. if you plan on heading around the state,up, it , -- in the state,up, still cool. we are looking at the system diving in off the gulf of alaska. not bringing awhole lot of precipitation. maybe 100th of an inch of rainfall if we can get that. you get the idea if you're taking mom out be prepared especially as we head into that brunch time hour. it will be cool, brisk, breezy around the bay area. we will try and sneak in a little sunshine as we head into the afternoon. overnight tonight computer models showing that front making its way on into the bay area. doesn't show much in the way of rainfall. just not a whole lot of precipitation with this but you can see green off the coastline. that's where most wants to stay but as we head into the middle of the day there is a chance we could see scattered light shower popping up around the bay area. drizzle out toward the coastline. late in the day the sun tries to poke three. 60s inland. 50s coast side. maybe some mid-60s in some of the interior spots. you get the idea. it will stay cool on mother's day. and the temperature is going to stay down just about everywhere you go. with those winds kicking up in the afternoon. as we look out over the neck couple days going to keep things cool and breezy through monday. maybe a little warmer in tuesday and webb not too bad. 4-3. golf legend seve ballesteros passed away last night in his home in spain. he had been dealing with complications from a a brain tumor. he was 54 years old. >> he would say to a few players, give them the ultimate compliment in his minds was to call him a champion. he said that after they won the ryder cup in 1995 i believe. he said you are a great champion. that's like the highest honor he could give someone. he was a champion. >> certainly was. nba playoffs. grizzly and thunder getting reacquainted after a four-day layoff. appeared to be off to an easy three game win. 82-71. with seven and a half minutes to play but the baskets started going the grizzly's way down the stretch. tony allen has himself an easy dunk. memphis would come back and send the game to overtime. nobody is having a better post season. he leads the grizzlies with 21 points and 21 rebounds. memphis wins 101-93 to take a 2-1 series lead. meanwhile kobe and lakers haven't been able to figure out a way to beat the mavs. dirk scored 32 points and led another dallas fourth quarter comeback last night putting them just one win away from sweeping the defending champs. >> i might be sick in the head, you know, or crazy because i still think we are going to win the series. i might be nuts. but i'm not -- win on sunday and go back home. see if they can win in l.a. >> no team in nba history has ever come back to win a series after losing the first three games. a scenario that the red wings also found themselves in against the sharks. last year the sharks had a chance to sweep detroit but got blown out 7-1. it looks like history would repeat itself last night but the sharks erased the three goal deficit before the red wings scored with less than 90 seconds to force game 5. >> we have an opportunity to win at home. we are going to learn from this one. we are going to go back and work on our game tomorrow and we are going to be better. recovery from almostsided or one goal doesn't matter. you lost the game, move on. >> all four games in the series have been decided by one goal defenseman dan boyle has been the sharks leading scorer in the series with five points and 41-year-old nicholas lindstrom leads detroit with tower games. tomorrow night at the tank at 5 p.m. detroit will have to accomplish that fete they have never done in franchise history but the flyers did it last year. so
