it is the temperatures. take a look from san ramon to sarasota to napa to palo alto, we're dealing with temperatures in the mid-50s. mild conditions outside. and couple that with a lot of moisture in the soil. and that means that we are ultimately going to have a large development of some fog today. and 52 for oakland as the overnight lows today. and 48 for concord and 48 for livermore and 52 in pacifica and 53 degrees in san francisco as well but woe talked about the fog. in fact there will be a dense fog advisory and remain in effect for tonight and well into tomorrow morning. and we're expecting around 9:00, 10:00, we will start to see some clearing but because of all of the fog out there, a winter spare the air alert has been issued for late tonight into tomorrow. and that means it is illegal to burn. and just as i mentioned, i got to bring you all of the bad news about the fog, and the spare the air alert and then i'm also going to tell you about some rain that is expected to begin moving into our area on tuesday. and first, let's talk about who is going to see the most unhealthy air. that is the santa clara valley and the rest of the bay area is seeing moderate conditions and keep in mind it will be illegal to burn. high pressure continues to build over the bay area. that's keeping this storm well to our north. and as that high pressure builds, it is going to give us a little bit of drying, but it is not going to stop that fog. so expect a foggy start. and then if you're in the inland areas, the tri-valley, you will start to see hazy sunshine conditions tomorrow and temperatures will top out in the upper 60s, to right around 70 degrees. but as pinpoint forecast marches us through that fog, expect it to stay along the coast, and inside the bayer, and through the early a.m. hours, and then watch the march into the early part of the day. we will see a lot of clearing, particularly in the tri-valley and most of the bay, some of that fog will stick around on the coast, and most of us will begin to see some clearing. we will see temperatures mild as well. and 59 for vallejo. and 65 in san francisco. and the same for livermore as your five-day forecast. expect a little bit of sun to begin paáebg peek -- peeking out in the bay and inland areas. we will start to see some clearing then. and monday promise more fog. and by tuesday, clouds are on the increase. that's when we expect temperatures late in the day. and by thursday, we're expecting the clouds to be increasing again. and that means a rainy day on friday. so once we get over the fog, expect a little bit of that rain to start moving in. that's it for me. gary is standing by with a look at sports. gary, take it away. >> robert, thanks a lot. today was the day to hand out the heisman. and due see this too often. a little college hockey outdoor style. the big chill at the big house. sports is next. ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, suprise th cam he is the best player on the best team in the country. so it should come as no surprise that auburn's cam newton was named the heisman trophy winner. >> the winner is cam newton.
