An initial shooting victim and then a person killed in that shooting, after several Berkeley Police officers opened fire. There is no active threat. That is the good news. This happened at a toyota dealership right by berkeley. It began right around 11 15, with reports of a shooting. There was a call for help from a nearby building. Police went in. Reporter they went in, located a victim, and a suspect. An exchange of gunfire occurred. Reporter no update on the conditions of the two people shot. The Alameda County Sheriffs Office is investigating the shooting. Berkeley fire and you see police are there, because of the proximity to University Village in albany. Police are urging people to stay away from the area, between buchanan and easton. Mayor sheng thao is defending her choice to fire leronne armstrong. This comes after a report found inaccuracies in the investigation that led to armstrongs firing, recommending the mayor consider reinstating him.
