Reporter Mountain View police jumped into action asking the public for help for minding the baby girl. Its been concerning we havent heard anything. Reporter Madeline Wallin four months old missing for 16 hours. Her alleged abductor her father. Mountain view police say wallin went to visit his daughter around 8 30 last night. But it took a turn when he got into an argument with madelines mother. And he decided to drive off with madeline in his lap in the driver seat. Reporter investigators say madelines mother tried to hang on to wallins car before he took off. He dragged the mother a ways. Causing minor injuries. Nothing life threatening. But he was determined to get out of there. Reporter that is when madelines 28yearold brother got in a car attempting to get out of there. He brake checked. Causing the adult son to run into the back of him. And then he continued off with madeline still in his lap. Reporter do you know if the baby was hurt during that accident . I have no idea. Again within the last 1015 minutes the Mountain View police say the baby has been safe in livermore. The dad has not been found. Well have details on this story all afternoon at cbssf. Com. The widow of the pulse nightclub shooter will be in court on monday. She is charged with obstruction of justice and aiding and abedding her husband in connection with the nightclub shooting which is the deadliest mass shooting in u. S. History. More upheaval this noon for some survivors of last weeks Apartment Fire in oakland. They are being forced to leave the temporary housing where they had been getting shelter and support. Reporter at one point 45 people were staying here at the west Oakland Youth Center following the fire that killed four people last monday. This morning only 11 remain. But now they have to go as well. So the center can return to its normal operations. Its been real hard to place them in medium care housing. We are doing our best. Reporter the city of oakland has set up this assistant center right next to city hall. Here people will get help with housing, food, and social security. 60 people came through yesterday. Because many of these victims were living in halfway Housing Units in this building on san pablo avenue, the city of oakland recognizes this group of people was already at a disadvantage in life before they lost everything in the fire. That is what makes this difficult. People had multiple challenges. Weve been trying to address that. They have options for rebuilding their lives. Police are looking for the gunman that killed a woman while she was driving her children to day care. The shooting was captured on surveillance video. You can see the victims car pull up to a stop sign and then the suspect pulls up next to her and fires. Heres a picture of the suspect. He is 43yearold desean mcbride. The children inside the car were not physically hurt. They are staying with relatives. Chopper 5 caught the aftermath on bow know avenue. It started yesterday afternoon when police got calls about shots fired in that area. When officers got to the scene they say the suspect drove out of the garage and started shooting at them. That is when a shootout broke out with officers and suspect was killed. One homeowner heard the whole thing. I was standing over here and heard 3040 shots. I walked around here and all of these cops were coming in. Several officers were injured in the shooting. Luckily none of those injuries are serious. The name of the suspect that was killed has not been released. Man charged with an attempted kidnapping in San Francisco has made his first court appearance. Lee igle pleaded not guilty. He tried dragging a girl into his car last month in west portal. Witnesses heard the girl screaming for help and lanked her out of his car. Cameras were not allowed in the courtroom today. Highway 35 broke open after some powerful winter storms. Caltrans says it will cost 29. 5 million to repair. Caltrans says this project is part of an 886 million in damages to roads across the state. Fast forward to 2017 and on a recent night we found this suite half empty with no Public Officials in sight. Why the change . It all started with a kpix 5 investigation. Under a contract with the coliseum complex, each City Council Member gets two tickets to every event. To be used for a public purpose. But we discovered some City Council Members last year were hogging the free tickets for themselves. Received 76,000 worth of free tickets since 2015. Not anymore. We called we combed through hundreds of new forms. Our usual suspects are giving all of their free tickets away. Our reports prompted oakland Ethic Commission to check ticket gates here at city hall. Commissioners discussed recommendations on how to change the rules but one City Council Member has her own controversial idea sell those tickets and use the money to fund vital services. Reporter that way there would be no ethic questions and the tickets would not go to waste. Since our report 150 tickets with a face value over 47,000 have gone unused. Capelin says her plan would benefit all of oakland. We simply stopped having Public Officials receive the tickets and then safe that money and wed be able to sell the tickets and use the money to help the homeless and expand our after school programs.
