It happened on interstate 80 between richmond and pinole last night. This marks the 6th shooting along this stretch of freeway since october. One was deadly. Kiet do reports. Last night, a mom pulled her car over at a gas station right after she was caught in the crossfire of a freeway shootout on i80 eastbound near the richmond parkway and fitzgerald drive exit. The bullet entered through the right rear window and hit the left rear head rest so the drivers seat head rest, it hit the back of it and then it exited the left passenger window. Reporter the bullet missed all three kid who were in the back seat. The mom checked out the 2year old to find the toddler was only slightly injured by flying glass. Pretty miraculous that none of the occupants were hit especially the three children in the back. Reporter and then came a become break in the case. A man and a woman were dropped off at a local hospital with gunshot wound. They were nonlifethreatening and the victims were said to be in their 20s. Investigators say those two people were the original intended target of the shooting. I80 has seen a rash of shootings in the past few months including this one in december when a gunman drove up to a ford suv in san pablo and opened fire. The suv driver got shot and ran into a nearby restaurant for help. Including the incident last night, the count is now up to 6 shootings. As for the family who cheated death they should count their blessings tonight because it definitely was pretty miraculous. Reporter in pinole, kiet do, kpix 5. Reporter a judge is expected to rule today on whether the nfl must halt work on a super bowl media site built on a youth soccer field. The league began construction on that field next to levis stadium yesterday. But increasing clouds are coming in the storm moves in overnight and then we stay unsettled through the extended forecast. Certainly going to see rain pretty much at least every our day for the next few days. Today we get a dry break with High Pressure in Place Holding off the storms. We could see showers in the north bay. We are already seeing some cloudy conditions. Overall most of us are waiting for the next storm which is still off in the pacific. That will move in tonight and actually you can see its already starting to go inland to the north. The front will pass to the north bay today and we can time it out with futurecast. So we are starting off partly cloudy skies increasing cloud as we move on throughout the day. Pausing at 7 p. M. , heres that front just moving into the north bay. This is the heaviest rainfall, at least the band of heaviest rain and certainly the highest wind going to pass through with that front. Most of that overnight tonight so very stormy if you are outside tonight. Boy tomorrow mornings community, well still see widespread scattered showers light to moderate at times and then showers continuing throughout the day tomorrow with a chance of some possible thunderstorms. We start to dry out for the second half of the day. And the first half of thursday. But look at this thursday at 3 p. M. The next round of rain our next system moves in, its weaker and not as much rain with it but it will bring more scattered showers and some relatively widespread rain. Heres a look at futurecast. Im pausing it after our first storm system overnight tonight. Then we wait for our Second System that of course thursday. We dont see a lot more rain from this up north. But we go up an inch in napa and santa rosa looking at a half inch for the next few days. Theres a break in between the two systems. It gives us time to absorb the rain before the next round comes in exactly what we want to see when we are trying to put a dent in the drought.
