In the bay area. Tenants at an oakland Apartment Building woke to the sound of a massive eucalyptus tree crashing on their roof. The man who lives at the apartment says the awning on the roof prevented the tree from falling through a window near his twoweekold daughter who was sleeping and this isnt the first time a tree fell there. Another tree fell several months ago. Supposedly they had assessed that the trees were structurally sound but thats not the case obviously and what we are trying to do hopefully is bring attention to the Property Managers and oakland. Chopper 5 overhead a march from a mission that ended about an hour ago. The crowd made up of Lincoln High School students. This is just a part of the growing outcry over the shooting death of woods, who was armed with a knife at the time. Kpix 5s anne makovec is live in San Francisco, where plans were Just Announced to file a federal lawsuit over his death. Reporter a federal civil rights suit was filed this morning. At a press conference here they showed pictures of mario woodss body at the time of the autopsy. Very graphic pictures showing bullet holes wounds. They also showed new control phone video that was taken at the time of the shooting. Heres how one of the lawyers explains it. It happened here. If you look at mario woods hands to the side they are not in a raised manner. We dont even know if theres any visible in his hands at this moment. Reporter mario woods was shot by police in the bayview on december 2 armed with a kitchen knife. He is accused of using it to stab someone earlier in the day. Officers say he came at one of them with the knife and that they had no choice but to open fire. And police have not released information on how many bullets did hit woods but burruss said that civil rights civil rights lawyer john burruss said officers shot woods 20 times as he walked away. I just think its an affront and an insult for the African American community that that much fire power was being used and against a relatively small person at a time when that person was not committing any crime. Reporter woods mother was at this mornings announcement. Obviously, distraught, she said the police handled the shooting poorly all the way through. She actually found out about her sons death through facebook. The San Francisco Police Department has been using this as a call at least the chief has to, um, try to get tasers in the hands of his officers saying it would be another option rather than using deadly force. A government source says it appears that many of sayed farook and tashfeen maliks overtures were refused because they were afraid of getting caught. The l. A. Sunday, men praying at lake Chabot Regional Park in Castro Valley were attacked by a woman with an umbrella and coffee. Inside the cair offices, at least a dozen hateful phone calls have come through in the past week. All it takes is one crazy person to do something and a lot of peoples safety could be compromised. The federal Aviation Administration investigators will be at the scene of a medical Helicopter Crash in kern county today. Four people died when the chopper went down in heavy rain and fog on the flight to a bakersfield hospital. The crash site is near the town of mcfarlane. Everyone on board died. They are concerned about the toys lithium ion batteries. They ignite and catch fire very violently. Reporter cell phones, tablets and lap phones use low wattage lithium ion batteries which are within faa regulations. In a statement, delta pointed to the size and power of the lithium ion batteries in the hover boards and found the strength of the batteries often exceeded government limits for whats allowed on board an aircraft. One manufacturer blames cheap knockoffs for the problem saying, they dont compromise when it comes to using the highest quality parts and urged customers to be aware of affectunits being sold on the internet. According to sean cain the founder of the Safety Institute the hugely popular products may eventually be recalled. They are considered toys. But in fact they are not. So its a winwin. The kids have a great time. The food bank ended up with over 13,000 pounds of food, 5,000 in cash. How do you get them to do that . I cant even get my son to empty the trash. Those kids were so excited to get out there and collect food. We were with them. Mission of the food bank as it says on the check here is to end hunger but they really cant do it without the community. So its great to get there with the community and the kids and show them how to volunteer and give back to the community. I didnt know but rhubarb. Its so stringy that it actually causes severe stomach problems. And plants like a poinsettia, stuff you have around. Right. Poinsettias are actually they are actually not super toxic the way these guys are. They can cause some mild toxicities but these are very, very toxic. Okay. Well, i know were short and sweet.
