Jackie . Reporter behind me, frank, is where all these accidents ended. They were caused by a single dump truck. Take a look. The truck was uprighted a little bit ago. Despite the destruction, veteran Police Officers say it could have been worse. It all started around 8 50 a. M. When a truck traveling eastbound on silver avenue lost control according to eyewitnesses. At this point in the investigation, Police Believe the driver was dealing with mechanical issues. The first accident happened at somerset and silver where the truck collided with a car forcing it into a home. Two people were in the car and they are being treated for nonserious injuries at San Francisco general. The truck continued down silver eventually plowing into a lamp pole at san bruno and silver. Thats when it slipped on its side breaking through a guardrail and dumping construction debris on 101 southbound. [ pause ] nobody was hit to my knowledge as far as the debris falling down to the 101. As you can see behind me, the truck didnt go over on 101 which would have been a disaster. More people could have been hurt or even killed. Its a miracle that not more serious injuries were happened. We are thankful that the people had nonlifethreatening injuries. Reporter 101 southbound will be closed for at least an additional three hours. Silver avenue isnt expected to be open until 4 p. M. The driver of the truck walked away relatively unscathed and had to crawl out of the windshield to safety. He is cooperating with police. Now, the area on silver bayshore and san bruno are congest the right now. Not only because of the accident but because of road construction, as well. In San Francisco, jackie ward, kpix 5. A fatal crash last night after a driver going the wrong way on highway 101 smashed into a big rig in san rafael. The chp reports the driver was going north on the southbound lanes near the central san rafael exit. The identity of the driver is not released. This is the second fatal collision though on that stretch of highway this week. Two suspects have been arrested for allegedly robbing and shooting a store clerk in antioch. It happened last night at a Convenience Store on lone tree way near hillcrest avenue. Shortly after Police Located a vehicle there, they believe it was involved in the robbery. The two suspects inside were arrested. The clerk was taken to the hospital with unknown injuries. A threeday manhunt ends in an hours long standoff and now police say they have a suspected murderer in custody. It happened at a home on mass. Avenue in redwood city yesterday evening. Anthony kirincic is accused of stabbing his girlfriend 34year old colleen straw to death in her san mateo home. Kirincic had been on the run since friday. Police tracked his car at an urgent care clinic on saturday and found him last night at a relatives home in redwood city, charged with firstdegree murder. They were able to safely take the suspect Anthony Kirincic into custody and i can report to you that he is under arrest by San Mateo Police department now on a 5 million arrest warrant for murder. Police are questioning a relative of kirincics who owns the house he was hiding out in. New at noon, the mayor of chicago has announced the police chief is fired. Police souped Gary Mccarthy came superintendent Gary Maccarthy came under fire after the shooting death of Laquan Mcdonald at the hands of a white police officer. Dashcam video shows the 17year old being shot by more than a dozen times by officer Jason Van Dyke last october. Protestors are frustrated that it took more than 400 days to charge van dyke with a crime.
