Coming up, we would return home to see what is left and we will talk about what it took to contain the clayton fire as the evacuees make their way back through the ashes and the damage that was left behind. ,,,,,,, devastating fire. Are now returning. Firefighters finally gained the upper hand on the clayton fire its now 90 pe the lower lake residents that were forced from their home nearly week ago due to the devastating fire are now returning, firefighters finally gaining the upper hand on the clayton fire, 90 contained. It burned nearly 4000 acres and destroyed 300 homes, damaging 28 homes. The suspected serial arsonist charged with setting the fire, the 40yearold clear lake man that worked as an inmate firefighter while in prison years ago, accused of setting other recent fires in the area, being held on a 5 million bail and expected to enter a plea in september. Joining us to talk about that ongoing firefight in to find out how exactly these fires are starting, mike murphy, and thank you for joining us. Lets talk about the clayton fire now 90 contained. The fire is buttoned up and were cleaning up and trying to get the folks back into their homes. I was out there last week and we saw how quickly these wildfires moved. It is very surprising and people have a sense of comfort living in town, but as we saw in the lower lake and the valley fire, they can move through a town very quickly so we need to be prepared. And also the soberanes fire fire still burning after over a month. It will be one month tomorrow and it is yes, still burning actively. I believe we are in the 70s or 80s in containment. How long do you think it will take . Hopefully we can have that fire contained by the end of the month but it will be another month before we get it fully cleaned up, and we were probably wait for some of these rains to come to finish the job. The cause of the fire is still being investigated but it may have been a campfire. We want to talk about how quickly you made the arrest and the clayton fire, and without talking about the case, how were you able to find the cause of the fires, especially when the fire is ongoing, and how you can determine whether it is arson and find the suspected arsonist. Cal fire is fortunate because we of our own Law Enforcement detail, 40 to 50 Law Enforcement officers that train for over year to become an arson investigator and they have ongoing training. They literally shift stiffed through the ashes to find clues to leave him to the cause of the fire. The majority of the fires are accidental and 90 are usually caused by accident, maybe 5 are intentional. We try to get to the solution to find out if it was intentional, and if so we do our best to arrest the person, and prosecute them to the extent of the law. And i am assuming you go right out there. Absolutely, Law Enforcement detail is part of the assignment, from the minute we get a 911 call they are in action. Thank you for all that you do. Thank you for joining us. I took warfarin for over 15 years until i learned more about oncedaily xarelto. A latest generation blood thinner. Then i made the switch. Xarelto® significantly lowers the risk of stroke in people with afib not caused by a heart valve problem. It has similar effectiveness to warfarin. Warfarin interferes with vitamin k and at least six blood clotting factors. Xarelto® is selective targeting one critical factor of your bodys natural clotting function. For people with afib currently well managed on warfarin, there is limited information on how xarelto and warfarin compare in reducing the risk of stroke. Like all blood thinners, dont stop taking xarelto without talking to your doctor, as this may increase your risk of a blood clot or stroke. Being hosted by the apple ceo tim cook, and the imitation obtained shows the donation options from 2000 50,000, and the cohosted by the apple Vice President lisa jackson, and cook is hosting the event in a private capacity. We have learned that the Clinton Campaign is spending more than donald trump, showing the republican president ial Nominee Campaign spent 18. 5 million last month, compared to the clinton 38 million. As of last month, clinton raised 31 million from san jose to San Francisco. We sat down with willie brown and melissa caen to talk about once again what this is doing about the image of the big bucks that are fueling the campaign. Making out there making similar appeals to the big donors, trump cannot count that against her when he is doing the same thing. What about her image between this and the foundation, the Clinton Foundation which scoops up so many millions from Foreign Government and foreign interests . It was admitted by the campaign this week that they announced that if she were elected they would no longer take donations from corporations or Foreign Government. And why are you smiling at that . The foundation will be out of business completely and should not talk about taking donations, and how can you get away from evidence of alleged influence if you are the president and somebody is giving you money to the foundation that has your name on it . Are you kidding me, get out of the foundation business, hillary, the date you are sworn in. I have to agree this looks bad no matter whether it is above board, there will always be the inference of influence with those donations. And the clintons have brought on this on themselves for as long as we have known them. Keep in mind we are talking about two poor people, that came from terrible backgrounds, particularly, when they left the white house, what is it, in 2000, and they left in a uhaul motorhome. They mustve taken every gift that i did not take it when i was in office. [ laughter ]. They are not in a motorhome now. You have to understand the mentality of us poor people. Hillary clinton was not raised in a shack, coming from a solid middleclass background. Bill clinton came from the tough side of town, but not Hillary Clinton. Every time you tell this story he gets more dire. [ laughter ]. I disagree with you wholeheartedly. When she looked up with deal, mary deal and she was doing the childrens movement or whatever, you will not see the dollar drama in the white house. If she wins, she will be the first woman president of the United States ever in the history of the country and he will be the first husband, an incredible series of titles that you dont need to be humble. You may not need to be humble, but what happens with the foundation . It will likely shut down without them, but why not just say we will not be part of the foundation, why wait until i become president . That is the question that a number people are asking, and we will keep an eye on this as we roll through this dramatic first of its kind campaign, making history one way or the other. In the meantime, a Bay Area Office building being asked to tone it down, and not the noise, coming up next. ,,,, [ male announcer ] choose it. Scoop it. Pour it. Blend it. All eyes on the bay area will be on the judge this week when it comes to deciding the fate of the man accused of a sex crime, and the judge is set to make his first decision since receiving the Harsh Criticism for the six month system cystic the sixmonth sentence he gave to brock turner for sexually assaulting woman, and he will decide whether to reduce the child pornography conviction of a san jose man from a felony to a misdemeanor. Some neighbors upset about the color scheme of a new apartment complex, and the Planning Commission is meeting to take up the issue. The apartments back up to the highway 101, and weve heard from the people that live near the residents and says that it is right orange, and green and gray, and it is not just the loud colors they have a problem with. I understand the need for more housing, but the problem with putting this and this is one lane highway. It is a bummer and im considering moving someplace else. The planning will meet tuesday night at town hall. This is a more obnoxious color. You see this all around the bay area, and it is the popup of the new housing boom, and they are objecting to the idea of stacking it on the traffic and everything else, and that is what we see, the demand for more housing, but when you Start Building it, they want an equal demand of cutting it back. Everybody is not going to be happy. Controversy lingering, that are Clinton Donald trump pushing to get the votes, and a number of the clinton leader team join us to take a look at her campaign. ,,,,,,,,, the election, both candidates are making a final push for voters. Including their supporters. Later today, several clinton ll be holding a phon in the race for the white house, less than three months in both candidates making a final push for the voters, and the clinton Supporters Holding a phone bank, coming after the swing states, and they plan a campaign for clinton before the november election. We will talk more about the campaign push, peggy moore, the clinton California Leadership Team head. One thing you guys have over donald trump is organization. How many people do you think you will have working the phones this weekend . We have people all over the state making phone calls, and making cold calls from home and inviting their friends to come over so we have hundreds of phone calls happening all over the state. Considering the fact that california is pretty much decided they will vote for clinton. We would be concerned if we were unable to win california, that would be historic. When they are calling for clinton, are they calling for every other single democratic candidate . Absolutely, it is the whole ticket, and there are women running for the ticket a lot this year, so we are calling for everyone to get out during both a registration. Boulder registration. Voter registration. It is interesting that we have the open primary, and how do you guys decide which one youre calling for . Our focus is around secretary clinton, and it is a very democratic race, and i think the upanddown ticket will be a battle in some states and we will focus on that. What about the initiative in this state . And will they say i want you to vote for this, this and this as well . There will be some organizers that do that, but our focus is to make sure we get clinton elected, as well as every democrat up and down the ticket. Lets talk the real deal. Ive been doing this for a long time, back in the Obama Campaign and understanding the organizers and the state of california, our voters are greedy and passionate and will do everything they can in terms of getting the top leaders elected. We have some Leaders Within the organizations that are passionate about their initiatives and they will nationally talk about those, but not driven or led by our campaign itself. But the democratic machine in california is a combination of unions and interest groups, environmentalists and stuff like that. It is an army that you can latch onto. Absolutely. In terms of Hillary Clinton campaigning, our focus is to turn out those in other states, and calling into the battleground states. In california we have a lot of folks on the democratic ticket, and a lot of the initiatives are important, and everybody will be out where they need to. Here, nevada and arizona. We had to busloads in nevada yesterday. You guys not only talk it, you walk it, and if you are out there walking for any candidate, we will let you know what to expect for the weather. At least for the morning were the jacket, especially along the ghost or by the bay, along the coast or by the bay, 60 degrees, 62 in san jose and 60 in concord. The clouds falling back to the coastline this afternoon and sunshine inland, later today the clouds billing backend, and even more tomorrow. Definitely a cooling trend in the first half of the work week, low pressure to the south and High Pressure to the north, and overall we have and upper level easterly flow. We could see popup thundershowers and the high country, and overall we will stay dry with plenty of cloud cover along the coast. Morning clouds with afternoon sun inland and hazy sunshine with air quality moderate. The afternoon high will run slightly below normal, but not only today but continuing through your extended forecast. The highs in the mid 80s for the warmer spots inland, 86 in livermore and fairfield, 74 in santa rosa and 60s along the coast, and along the be a few 70s, and 75 in mountain view. Temperatures warming up into the 90s in the central valley, and in the 70s and lake tahoe with a few popup thundershowers possible. Overall a pleasant day area wide. If youre heading to burlingame, temperatures mid 70s with hazy sunshine and a great day on the avenue. The extended forecast showing what you see is what you get, and the 80s and 70s by the bay and 60s along the coast. A tennis player making a difference with an idea that started in his garage, the jefferson award winner is coming up next. ,,,,,,, voters to give him a chance. Youre living in poverty, your schools are no good, you h turning back to 2016 campaign, donald trump urging black voters to give him a chance. Look how much African American communities have suffered under the democratic control. To those i say the following, what do you have to lose . Only 2 of africanamerican voters prepare trump, 85 in favor of Hillary Clinton, and trump is underperforming nationally, trailing clinton by nine percentage points. In addition, his Leadership Team is changing after the resignation of the campaign chairman. They uncovered records of almost 13 million worth of illegal payments from the time working for the prorussian president , and the u. S. District court judge granted the request by the Judicial Watch requiring clinton to provide written answers under oath to the questions related to the email scandal. Due to the time on, the answers were not be made public until after the election. More bad news, sitting down with willie brown and our political analyst melissa caen, and with all of this going on, where does the campaign go from here . I have to tell you, come september 1 you will see a different campaign, all of the things that have happened before, it is like spring training in baseball. Is it spring training for baseball or the titanic hits the ice water iceberg . [ laughter ]. It does not seem that the problem is bad advice, but it is the problem of the person at the top not taking the advice, and not sure that has changed. I think he is firmly of the opinion that he does not need any advice. Keep in mind that he orchestrated the process where he vanquished 16 solid quality opponents or at least two thirds of them in the category. He did so without spending almost any money whatsoever. He dismembered the entire political party. If is out to wreck, and how to see build over 50 . He is operating on the theory that he does not need 50 only one more than she has, and that is what he is prepared to do. You think it will be more contentious Going Forward . I think mr. Trump will be at the helm of their bodies first breath every morning when we wake up, all candidates will be after donald trump and that is what he is aiming for. Can anybody recall one specific from the Hillary Clinton economic speech . Money, economics. Infrastructure. You have broad general allergies, but everybody seems to remember a take away from the donald trump speech, and it is not always positive. Thursday he said that he apologize, and will that work . He said i regret, not i apologize. But keep in mind that he will regret, and he told someone that i can get your job. Regrets because i did it my way, exactly. That should bes campaign slogan. Will we see more and more thank you for your services out the door . I dont believe that trump will ever come to the conclusion that he needs anybody other than himself to orchestrate his campaign, period. For anybody that steps in and becomes a problem or distraction, he wishes to be every day you think about the campaign, he wanted to be only trump. He does not want it to be the polls, the woman that he will send out in about two weeks, he wants he and roger ailes to do it together and that is it. It is fascinating when you think about that. Where else would you find the campaign of someone that was just out of a job for Sexual Harassment and the next thing you know advising the president ial candidate . This is so interesting. Trump was hurting in the polls over the last couple of weeks, but the la times says he is up by half percent. And a lot of this could be depended upon who is saying no and voting for thirdparty candidates in some these key states, and one for the history book. And this weeks jefferson award winner.
