This is a roll of the dice whether the line will be stored or go on forever. One question is can we staff for the surges and slots . aand slots slumps . We have had date 50 reduction in staff and a 50 increase in travel, and that will create long lines until the congress fully funds the youatsa. Why do we have less agents . Congress took the money from funding the tsa in putting it into reducing the deficit. We as passengers pay six dollars per ride in over in order to fund the tsa. And in that budget deal, Congress Took 1. 25 billion to pay down something over here, and they have siphoned out the money. Right. And if the lines get longer, that will hurt the economy if people cannot see they can get on the airplane in a timely manner. Safety is paramount, so how can we be taking money from this to pay down the budget deficit . We have seen the Republican Congress use a number of gimmicks to reduce the deficit. The economy has contributed to the deficit going down, and we can move that money back to the airport screeners. There was a recent report that one out of every 10 days there is a breach at the airport perimeters. Our airport perimeters are not safe right now. We have the airport perimeters, and as far as things getting through tsa, that is also a high percentage. Over 90 of the banned items during the test got through. What part is working . You get what you pay for. When you take the money out and say you do it to reduce the deficit, you create longer lines and people are not safe in the air. We have surges and times, so why not have the private companies do it . You have federal agencies, and you have all of these rules, so why not let the private company do it . The private companies can be on the table, but the republicans defund the tsa and then they say that the private company could do it better. But i think if we fully funded the tsa that would lift the ground and stop the arguments, but they like to have that argument because it is just chipping away. We started with this money in the training, and didnt we diverted to other things, and because of that the version the tsa started falling down the job, and then you say because their fallen down the job, someone else to do the job they say. Thats right. You could do it the way that congressman, let them route and move these people through the airport. I hope they do it before we have disaster. There are 34 names on the ballot. And believe me, there are only two that anybody has really heard of beyond the San Francisco bay area. And that is Kamala Harris and loretto sanchez, and not very many people have heard of them. Many are undecided on how they want to register to vote, so we will have an unusual thing occur, with harris at 27, and sanchez at 20, both females running against each other in a state that is guaranteed to produce a democratic senator. One thing we have seen in the last couple of years is the shift in how the early action to Dining California with the open primary, affecting everything down to the bottom of the assembly seats, and what change as this brought . It is made it almost impossible for the a republican to win. Unless you have a republican that has name identification that Arnold Schwarzenegger had, you will always be added disadvantage as a republican. Democrats invariably are greater in number, sometimes 3 to 1, and almost andrew distant in almost every district. This is completely unusual because all the democrat had to do in the past was to win the democratic primary, and that is skewered to the left side in the state of california, repeatedly. In the general, you could win, and now there is a chance that democrats could be saying how Many Republican votes can i get, making for a change. I think that is exactly where mr. John chong is talking about running for governor, and i think for republicans, if it is chong, he will start off with a greater shot at getting into the republicans. And you understand that when the republicans put this together into gears of Arnold Schwarzenegger, they thought they would have the potential the advantage, and now they have to brace themselves for a democratic onslaught in every election. My guess is it will not be long before go back to pure partisan in the state, and when that happens the republicans will have golden opportunity to win the election statewide. There are still plenty of republicans in california, and why can they not galvanize behind one candidate, one of those three reasonable candidates that are running and put them up against harris . People are just not like that, and the candidates are not well known. There is not a lot of money in this race. And when you talk about the political parties, look at the history california, if you are a celebrity, you can walk in no matter the party affiliation. It will be interesting. They say that five suspects have been arrested in connection with a string of shootings, some of whom couldve been involved in more than one. But the mayors say it is not enough and asking governor jerry brown to have surveillance cameras installed in the state highways in the area. They are scheduled to the meat to meet and discuss it tomorrow. We have hercules and limon here to talk about this, and what is behind the shootings . These are not random, they are targeted shootings where the victim is known by the perpetrator, and this is gang related. The victims are targeted. The hub is in richmond and antioch, and the roadways are in between. In some ways, your towns are innocent bystanders. Absolutely. And you have asked the governor to step in with cameras. The letter is open dialogue from the five mayors to the governor, asking for assistance with live feed on the freeway cameras, and they do not have the capability of recording what is going on. We are asking for the onramp and offramp cameras to record license plates. The license plate reader in san pablo was one reason they were able to capture the perpetrator. It is that ability with those cameras to record them to catch these shooters. It does not sound like this is a rush by the governors office, and what is your reaction . I was surprised we got an appointment with the governor. Thursday after signing the letter i wanted to drive it and deliver it to the governors office. Friday, hearing that the governor will take the time to meet with us, im happy. As anybody talked about the cost of installing the cameras . The cost, the technology is cheap, and it is the labor of storing it, doing it and using it that would cost. We know that it is costly, but lives are costly as well. And on the freeway, i know some people that will not use that freeway at all. I was going to ask you about that, you are on the roadways between these hotspots, and what are the reactions . People are upset and concerned about their safety, and our mission in life is to help. And the east bay has always been kind of quiet, and what is this like to take a roll of the dice when you get on the freeway . That is why some people are telling me they are not using the freeway, and im trying to get the governor to move this forward. It is the start of the dialogue. You have to have the dialogue with the guys that are doing the shooting were get the cops to arrest them, any progress . We have heard that there have been some arrest, but we do not get that much information from Law Enforcement. Interesting that you are in on this letter, but i do not see the mayor of antioch, and we have the mayor of richmond here. I had been in communication with a couple of the mayors, and i will be taking this letter and asking the mayor of pittsburg and the mayor of martinez to sign it.
