Joining me now is sheri franklin, executive director of muttville in San Francisco, its a dog rescue. She brought two friends with you this morning. Fred and ethel. They are a bonded pair. We have a lot of those at muttville right now. Theyre about 12 years old, and they came in after maddies adoption event. Your shelter did very well in that adoption event. Muttville surpassed their goal. Their goal was to get 10,000 dogs adopted across all of the groups that were working with them. Dogs and cats, right . Dogs and cats, right. They surpassed the goal. They actually adopted out 15,000, including muttvilles 36 senior dogs that would be considered unadoptable and we adopted out 36 dogs last weekend. So we have fred and ethel now because we can save 36 new lives. So maybe somebody out there is interested in making them part of their family. You guys have a big adoption event going on today. Thats right, at muttville senior dog rescue. Were now on rescue row adjacent to the spca and animal care and control, and we have an event save a senior saturday and its from 12 00 to 3 00 and you can meet fred and ethel there. Morgan was riding in a limo bus when it careened out of control and overturned early this morning. Two big rigs and an suv were also involved in the crash. One person was killed and seven others are injured. Now, morgan is a former saturday night live cast member and recently costarred in the Comedy Series 30 rock. A judge has at least for now settled the family feud over the care of famed radio personality casey k asem. Kasems daughter, kerry, is now in charge of her fathers medical care. Hes in Critical Condition a hospital in gig harbor, washington with an infected bed sore. Hes been in ill health for quite some time. Kasems children says his wife, jean, did not seek proper care for the 82yearold and denied them visits with their dad. Then we pick the grapes here by hand and we take them into the cellar where we hand sort them and each berry is like a perfect supermarket berry. They go into bins and open into open tops where we make the wine here on site. And after barrel aging and blending, we bottle it. Each year we do 100 bottles, so on this line, we have the potential to build 60,000 bottles in a day. What im trying to do is see it goes into a great bottle of wine. Its a pretty cool process. Back to that old italian favorite now that is an interesting combination, stephanie and Tony Tantillo are cooking up pasta with sausage and chickpeas. Chickpeas, sausage, a little bit of pasta, this is a fun dish this is a fun dish. I really like the kind of pasta were using with these chick pea. Were using shells. When you use shells and chick peas, the shells actually end up going inside. Of course sweet onions, vi dalia sweet onions, you only have to cook for two minutes and they become very sweet. They caramelize quickly which is what we did in this pan. We took the sausage out of the casing. You have to break it up. Thats when you get the nice crumpled look. Then we add a little bit of tomato paste. Just a little bit . Just a little bit. A little bit of color and a little bit of sweetness. That also helps as a binding. Fresh italian parsley. You know what i got . The fresh pepper. No salt because obviously the sausage has salt already in there and just a little bit of pepper. The chickpeas have a lot of salt too. I lost a shell.
