The officers went to engage the suspect not knowing if he was a victim or a suspect. At that point in time the suspect produced a weapon and fired upon the officers. Reporter police say the gunman then ran into a nearby restaurant before officers could fire back. Other officers came on scene, the suspect fired additional multiple rounds at the officers and then ran out we believe ran out of ammunition, threw the gun out on the ground, proned himself out and surrendered. Reporter the suspect was also taken to the hospital with what police described as superficial wounds on his hand. The jewelry mart and surrounding buildings were on lockdown. Plits feared a second suspect may have escaped. S. W. A. T teams ordered store owners to lock themselves inside their shops. Esther said she hid in terror for an hour. T teams cleared the building, looked at store video and determined there was only one suspect. From talking to people it appears that this is not the first time that this suspect has been in the building. Reporter was it a robbery attempt . I cant sleep, i havent slept since ive been here. Reporter webb had been in jail since wednesday, arrested for child endangerment. He admits he left his 21month old daughter daphne in an unlocked car in east oakland with his mother, who suffers from dementia. He says he walked in a store and when he came out the car seat was pulled over, the back door was open. Reporter daphne was gone. Webb said he believes she is still alive but police and the fbi have been searching trails and waterways for any evidence linked to daphnes disappearance. Theyve been working to establish a timeline of when daphne and anthony were last seen together by anyone other than his mother. But even anthony could not answer that question. I dont know who saw me to tell you the truth, but like i said, im a home body, daphne is at home, my mom is at home. Reporter webb said its been two weeks since daphnes own mother saw her. He also confirmed that trouble had been brewing in his family. Low pressure staying well to the north in the gulf of alaska and as a result today the numbers will rise, not dramatically, but well pick up a couple of degrees. Forecast for oakland at 73, its two degrees above average. Average for this time of the year is 71. And then in livermore 90 degrees is the forecast high. Thats about two degrees above average for this time in july. So were actually above average readings for the most part. San jose 83, right about where they should be. Down in the south bay the forecast looks like this, in morgan hill, itll be pretty warm, 80 degrees. You go over the coast range, over skyline boulevard, Half Moon Bay and 63 degrees the forecast there, 64 pacifica. East bay today itll be on the warm side, near 90 degrees at livermore, 91 at walnut creek, wine country, napa8443s,. Oakland today 73, as we mentioned, and then up in the far north were looking at 76 at windsor. But you go up 101 to yukia, 90 degrees. Plenty warm for us. Were looking for temperatures to increase today, tomorrow and then begin to cool it off on monday. Monday, tuesday and wednesday finds things moderating in the mid80s inland, 70s around the bay and the usual low clouds at the coast. And thats going to do it. She is, shes 3 1 2 pounds. Oh, my gosh. This morning her tail is up and wagging. Even when shes nervous, she doesnt become aggressive, she just falls asleep, thats a good quality for a dog. Tell us about the story. The past to get to muttville has been quite a long one. Yes. She was at the stockton shelter and then was rescued by the taken in at the berkeley shelter, and then they called us because they figured that we could probably place her easier. You know, we have the audience for the old dogs. So now shes with us. So im sure shes a little you know, shes been bounced around. From shelter to shelter. Shes so sweet. I want to remind everybody about the wonderful things your organization does. You take them in after other shelters their time has run up at other shelters. Right. A lot of shelters just dont put older dogs up for adoption. Some of them do, and they sit for a long time. But our audience, you know, they know theyre going to be getting an older dog and we have about 70 dogs available for adoption anywhere from three pounds, we actually have 115 pound mastiff right now, so all sizes and shapes. You have this adoption event every saturday. Its called love a senior saturday. Its from 12 00 to 3 00 at our alabama street location, and we encourage anybody that wants to come get a little senior love in their life to come by and visit us. The San Francisco airport runway where asiana flight 214 crashed last weekend is now back in service. The airport reopened 28 left yesterday afternoon. Crews worked on repairs for 48 hours straight, and now runways at sfo are back at full capacity. Flight diversions to san jose and oakland are no longer necessary. Police trying to establish a motive for shooting that killed two women inside a Jewelry Store in San Francisco. Police say a man opened fire yesterday inside a jewelry mart at 8th and branan streets. Many ran to a nearby restaurant and fired at Police Officers before being arrested. The would women who died were employee the two women who died were employees at the store. The owner was shot, but is expected to survive. In the search for 21month old daphne webb continues. The toddler went missing in oakland. Her father says someone took daphne from his car while he was in the store. Webb was arrested for child endangerment but he was released yesterday.
