One car hydroplaned in the north bay right along 101 Near Railroad avenue and you can see traffic starting to back up just a bit. It is reported to be blocking one of those lanes. Were tracking a crash on 101 near airport boulevard. If you are making your way through the peninsula and over on 880 at highway 84, excuse me, alvarado street, we are getting reports of a crash couple of cars got into it there with some injuries involved emergency crews heading to the scene. Former fbi director james comey will deliver his highly anticipated testimony before congress. Its his first public remarks since President Trump fired him last month. Heres a live look now inside the room where he is scheduled to testify. The fired fbi director will publicly testify that President Trump asked him to end an investigation into former National Security adviser michael flynn. That request came during a meeting in the oval office. He detailed the meeting in a memo directly afterward but didnt give it to the attorney general Jeff Sessions. He says thats because he believes sessions would soon recuse himself in the investigation between potential ties between russia and the trump campaign. Senator Dianne Feinstein is slamming the way comey says trump behaved in their meeting. A president who knows no limit in terms of a proper relationship. Republicans including senator Lindsey Graham are saying the testimony is positive. All in all, its a pretty good day for President Trump. I believe every word of what comey said it doesnt rise to the level of obstruction of justice. Ahead of todays hearing, President Trump nominated chris wray a former Just Department official to take comeys place. Some republicans have urge him not to tweet during the hearing. The District Attorney says that almena and another man lied to the police and Fire Departments about allowing people to live at the ghost ship and he also accused them of Holding Illegal unpermitted events with large groups of people. On the night of the fire the d. A. Says the men blocked a second story exit. They created the high risk of death. A reasonable person would have known that acting in that way would create such a risk. This morning the aps is looking for a suspect behind a fire at a construction site in emeryville. The 35 Million Development burned down. He cause is under investigation. The atf says it doesnt believe the fire was an accident. It was the second fire to hit the site in less than a year. Right now the San Rafael Police department up in marin is urging homeowners to protect their mail. This comes amid a recent increase in mail theft. Take a look at the surveillance video. It shows a possible thief checking mailboxes late at night last week. The department is asking anyone with information about the recent theft to call them. There is a chance that the defendant in this case one of the two defendants Derick Almena may enter a plea this morning. Heres his mugshot. He was arrested early monday morning in upper lake county. A judge set his bail at more than a million dollars. And this happened almost 6 months to the day after the converted warehouse he managed nicknamed the ghost ship went up in flames killing 36 young men and women attending a Late Night Dance Party. The d. A. Says almena and another man lied to the police and Fire Departments about allowing people to live at the ghost ship which was stacked with flammable collectibles. She also accused them of holding several illegal unpermitted events and on the night of the fire, the d. A. Says the men blocked a second story admit all factors that went into the decision for criminal charges. To prosecute a manslaughter case, based on criminal negligence, my office must prove beyond a reasonable doubt that the defendant acted with gross or reckless conduct akin to disregard for human life. And that the deadly consequences of those actions were reasonably foreseeable. Reporter the other man charged in this case max harris also facing 36 counts of manslaughter. The grant money will be used to fund a Program Designed to help keep people with Mental Illnesses or Substance Abuse related problems out of jail especially for low level crimes. The money will come from the california board of states and community corrections. Its going to be a tax on marijuana businesses in santa rosa. Voters overwhelmingly approved the measure. Tax will be capped at 3,000 a year. Businesses will have to pay it. The tax doesnt apply to residents using or cultivating cannabis for personal use. There is still no clearcut schedule suggesting when smart Train Service will officially kick off connecting marin and sonoma. The meeting attended by 100 smart system employees plus the rail board failed to provide the answer. The uncertainty stems from a federal Railroad Administration audit set to begin monday. The renamed company will be called oath and will be led by aols ceo tim armstrong. The remaining part of yahoo will contain investments in chinese alibaba and yahoo japan. The Labor Department reports that weekly unemployment claims fell first time claims down by 10,000 to 245,000 and continuing claims down again remaining below 2 million for the 8th straight week. A live look now at the sierra at tahoe still plenty of snow up in the mountains. Caltrans says crews are work around the clock to clear at least 20 feet of snow. Since april, crews have been working to prepare the roadways leading up to the mountain. Caltrans says all roads should be cleared by july, just in time for the summer. Julie . We are getting a little bit of a rainsnow mix right along the crest there. But down here, a little bit of rain. We started off with pretty consistent rainfall for the north bay earlier this morning. And as the band of showers spreads south starting to break apart not as well organized, still seal light to moderate rainfall passing through the north bay a little bit of light rain in hercules, richmond. We have band of showers towards vallejo, benicia, did just cross over 101. Farther south, we do have a cell right now moving through San Francisco, heading towards oakland and emeryville, piedmont, alameda. Berkeley light rain now. Overall, we are not going to see significant downpours but enough to make for a bit of a messy morning commute.
