Over at the bay bridge toll plaza, things are looking good. Nice and light. A few cars backing up in the cash lanes. Nothing to write home about. 13 minutes into downtown San Francisco. Kpix 5s Jessica Flores is live in martinez where the shots were fired. Jessica. Reporter well, michelle, this is still a very active scene and were still gathering information but what i can tell you is you can see where a vehicle ended up where shots were fired into that vehicle. It appears to be A Brown Camaro from what i can tell over here but police tell us that they have been looking for the suspect for about a week before initiating that Police Shooting. Now, on may 25, Vallejo Police say the suspect was driving recklessly. Police pursued him but he got away. They were able to identify the driver as Kevin Decarlo of vallejo. Then on may 27, Vallejo Police say they spotted the suspect again but according to police he purposely crashed his vehicle into a Police Patrol car then ran off. Then last night, Police Tracked the suspect down here in martinez again officers saying the suspect rammed his vehicle into the officers car and thats when officers began shooting at the suspect. That suspect was taken to the hospital with multiple gunshot wounds. As you can see, live here, this is still an active scene. I counted at least 10 officers and detectives coming here trying to figure out exactly what happened, how this ended up here. It appears the vehicle is in some type of ditch so we dont know if, um, the car was chased to this location or officers actually made contact at this particular location. Last night. Police still on scene gathering information speaking to people trying to find out what happened. There might be other people involved. We are gathering more information. It was shut down for nearly 15 hours because of a big rig crash. Authorities say the truck flipped over and spilled some hazardous materials. The driver was not seriously hurt. A lot of people were delayed due to the situation over at the bay bridge as well as that connector ramp causing many people to reroute yesterday afternoon. So its nice that its back open. In San Francisco, police are being pressed for information about a fatal stabbing in this packed Community Meeting in Bernal Heights locals living near a popular park, a man discovered with multiple stab wounds last week. A hiker spotted him early in the morning near the south side of bernal hill. Police say the father of four dont think the killing was random so people shouldnt feel threatened. The victims sister disagrees. Nobody is safe. With the children out there and the killers nobody is safe. Today, the assembly is expected to vote on a bill that would eliminate cash bail for most people after they are arrested. Hundreds of East Bay High School seniors are getting help to pay for college part of the oakland promise, nearly 400 almost High School Grads were just awarded a total of 3 million in College Scholarships given out during the banquet. The Oakland Promise Program offers financial help mentoring opportunities and retreats for personal development. People encourage me to keep doing what i do because the questions that i have from my parents they didnt go to college so now i have this program and mentoring questions [ indiscernible ] students got up to 16,000 to help pay for college. This year the east Bay College Fund awarded a Record Number of oakland students scholarships. Kitty hawk proving its grand plan is taking flight. The twominute clip shows test pilots flying a vehicle above waterways. Its a first time a kitty hawk prototype is airborne without being anchored to a buoy. This one hovered several feet above water and steered with a controller just like a videogame and some leaders in Silicon Valley are confident it could set a trend. This is a working prototype. A shooting inside a dallas car dealership has left a fugitive and two bounty hunters dead. Cell phone video shows the moment that shots were fired. He was wanted for assaulting a Law Enforcement officer drug possession and dui. Officers say that at least 20 shots were fired inside the dealership. Deputies are looking into a tragic accident at lake tahoe. They say a 14yearold girl died when she was hiking on a trail. The El Dorado Sheriffs Office said she fell nearly 50 feet off the trail. An offduty officer got down to her and tried cpr. She was taken to the hospital where she died.
