This includes a direct pedestrian and bicycle connection between the bart station and the plaza in downtown concord, plus new benches, lighting and trees. Residents living on the mexico side of the wall. They live on the northern side of the river separating the u. S. From mexico, but the wall would likely be built a mile north of the community. President trump has not secured funding for the wall, estimated to cost 21 billion. President trump began his immigration crack down and new numbers are out. 21,000 immigrants have been arrested from january through midmarch, a spike of 32. 60 compared to last year. The spike is deterring terrified immigrant communities from reporting crimes. A bay area city will vote on whether or not they will become a sanctuary city, but they say it is unlikely to happen because of losing possible Financial Funding from the federal government. Much needed help will offered to those impacted by the deadly Apartment Fire in oakland. It broke out killing four people last month. The Small Business administration is offering those impacted low interest federal disaster loans, meant to help the victims repair or replace damaged property. The Berkeley City Council will discuss its participation in the controversial urban shield program. It is a training and weapons expo for local law enforcement.
