Bart trains will be running at full speed this morning after an incident last night involving a trespasser in the transbay tube. During the evening commute rush people waiting on the flat form saw a man walk into the transbay tube in the embarcadero. Photos of him walking on the track were posted to instagram. While he was in the tube trains packed with commuters couldnt run at full speed. They had to be operated manually which caused major delays while Police Officers searched for him. They eventually found and caught him two hours later. He made it more than a mile into the tube. As you can see, he was filthy when he came out all right. According to harp, some of the diplomats in San Francisco being forced to leave may actually be working for one of those russian intelligence agencies. People come here under diplomatic cover. The campaign was started a few years ago to try to curb a spike in crime in the city. The walk starts at the corner of mcdonald avenue and harbor way at 7 00 tonight. Surveillance video has surfaced showing a brazen daylight shooting on a San Francisco street corner. It happened on december 5 in the bayview. You can see that man there on the right of your screen some sort of skeleton mask up lane street peering around the corner and pulls out a gun and fires at that black car driving down palou avenue just feet away from the gunfire. A woman and her kids take cover behind that van when police got there they say there was no sign of that man or the car. With huge crowds expected tomorrow night in San Francisco for new years eve celebrations, San Francisco police are preparing for that. Dozens of extra officers will be patrolling the embarcadero ahead of the midnight Fireworks Show. Officers will also be keeping a close eye on the bars along polk and geary and in the mission. Last years show brought out thousands of people. Were not going to allow any type of public intoxication or drinking in public and we are encouraging please use Public Transportation into the city or Rideshare Companies because theres no excuse for driving under the influence. In oaklands fruitvale neighborhood concern is growing over lead poisoning. But kpix 5s Jessica Flores shows us some say water is not what people should be worried about. Reporter according to a report from reuters, in oaklands fruitvale district out of 500 kids tested more than 7 had elevated levels of lead in their system. Thats worse than flint, michigan. Should folks in the fruitvale be worried about drinking the water . No. Flint, the problem was the water system. Alameda county, no. Reporter larry brooks is with Alameda Countys lead prevention program. He says the problem, the lead paint used on homes prior to 1978. Deteriorated leadbased paint can be found throughout oakland. Most of the homes built in oakland were built prior to 1980. 90 . Reporter the Healthy Homes department educates public and provides grants to qualifying low income residents to upgrade homes. Over the last 10 years, we have treated over 5000 children for lead poisoning here in Alameda County. It is still a clear present danger for children who are living in aging homes. Reporter but brooks believes its not just a fruitvale problem; its widespread as education on lead poisoning goes up, he says so will screening and Health Officials might find even more children with elevated levels of lead in their blood. The group saw the 13yearold boy walking his bike across the frozen water. My sisterinlaw yells out, screams and says, he is in the water reporter whitmarsh called for help. He said help me, please. Reporter hesitant at first, whitmarsh makes a Bold Decision and goes on the fragile ice. It was extremely scary. The whole time i was scared. Reporter he says that he grew up in michigan which is why he knew to lay flat on the ice and slide out to get to the 13yearold boy and thats how both of them slid back to shore ultimately saving his life. His voice when he said, help me, please, it didnt sound good. It sounded like he was he was really struggling. Reporter the boy was taken to the hospital with severe hypothermia. He was later released though and is doing okay. Felt really powerful that, um, felt really powerful that, i dont know, he is alive and he is all right. Reporter the local Sheriffs Department plans to give him a medal for bravery but whitmarsh says he is just happy both of them are alive. In South Lake Tahoe, drew bollea, kpix 5. The Sheriffs Department plans to give whit marsh the civilian medal for bravery. An uber driver in sacramento is being praised for helping save a teen from a sex trafficking ring. Police say keith avila picked up the girl and two women for a ride to a nearby hotel. But he became suspicious when the conversation turned to how tos of solicitation. In the east bay, dozens of harbor seals have lost their favorite sunbathing spot in the name of transportation infrastructure. But kpix 5s da lin shows us why locals in alameda are pushing to make sure these seals have enough space to relax. Reporter 27 harbor seals sunbathing. If you think thats a tight squeeze, check out this photo taken on christmas eve. We saw 49 fall out. And that was a record. We never saw that before. It it we were dumbfounded because the record we had seen was, like, 38. Reporter the harbor seal monitor counts the seals. Over the summer he and volunteers were concerned they wouldnt return. The harbor seals have been lounging on this old doctor years until the Water Emergency Transportation Authority removed it in july to make room for a new ferry maintenance facility. But neighbors lobbied and the ferry agency built this platform made of concrete and styrofoam. If we had to move it, we had to move it 900 feet from the construction zone. Reporter it works. They came back. We see them fishing all the time. So fish, protection, safety, thats what they need. Reporter but some neighbors want the ferry agency to build at least one more. This platform is about 500 square feet. Its too small. I think it will be too small when the spring comes in and you have the baby seals. Reporter they hope it will pay for a second platform. For now the seals are happy. They are relaxing. What do you think the seals are doing . Sleeping. Are they comfy . Yeah. Yeah. Id say theyre definitely relaxing and and enjoying the sunshine. Rain off the coast wants to move into the bay area from time to time but if we see any rain generally less than. 10. By sunday albeit dry for the brandnew year, another system wants to work into our forecast. And again, minimal precipitation. The main feature will be the cooler air mass. The 50 million lawsuit accuses the companies of selling products that infringe with the run dmc trademark including hats, glasses, and tshirts that use the groups name or logo. The group says the companies are confusing shoppers into believing that run dmc endorses those products. No comment from the companies. And amazons next warehouse could be in the clouds. Betty yu shows us the Online Retail giant just pulled a patent for flying fulfillment center. Reporter it appears that the sky isnt the limit for amazon. Patent filings reveal a future where anything warehouses may send delivery drones to your door. Its paperwork details plans for what the Company Calls an Airborne Fulfillment Center such as an airship or blimp stocked with products that would float at about 45,000 feet. When a customer places an order, a drone would be dispatched. I think its really cool. I mean, this is a great idea. They are going to put a warehouse up in the sky. And lets face it. We need to be thinking really creatively about this stuff. Reporter tech experted Russell Hancock with joint venture Silicon Valley says drone delivery via warehouses in the sky isnt farfetched.
