Evacuation orders were lifted for People Living in Santa Cruz County. A lot of families are going to be returning home today but as joe vazquez reports, they are not sure what to expect reporter . Very intense. Reporter clay is closely watching the loma fire. He stayed home while most of his neighbors were evacuated. The flames are still too close. Going to be the night that determines whether i have a home tomorrow. Reporter sheriff officials told evacuees in some areas on the Santa Cruz County side of the fire, they could go back home. The area where evacuees are being allowed back this is extremely remote. There you can see one such home on a hilltop painted red with retardant. A surge of air power helped firefighters tame the flames. I think we are certainly making progress. Reporter Helicopter Air drops rained from above. It feels like were out of the woods. No . A San Francisco man accused of a bizarre kidnapping in vallejo is expected to change his plea to guilty today. Early in the investigation, Vallejo Police called it a hoax. Muller was arrested months after the crime. Police are asking for your help identifying this man. The dungeness crab season may start on time in Northern California this year. Perhaps 78 degrees towards levis stadium. Otherwise, the average high is 83 degrees. It will be below average today. Now, due to the smoke and the haze, because of the loma fire to the south. We have moderate air quality forecast from the Santa Clara Valley lifting into the eastern portion of our bay area. A quality yesterday was chunky. Today this is an expansive and extensive layer of clouds penetrating the bay marching inland at least 45 miles. This marine layer is enhanced due to this unseasonably cool area of low pressure to the north of the bay area. This is bringing a significant change. It is forecast to drop down south, clip the north bay, bringing some light rain to the north bay by sunday. Perhaps even into monday and just maybe a few sprinkles south of the golden gate bridge. Sunrise this morning is at 7 03. By the time it sets well have realized temperatures today now below average. 60s at the beaches today. 60s and 70s will be common around the bay. 70s into the peninsula. 75 in santa rosa when your average high is right around 84 degrees. Low 80s in throughout the tri valley when we should be right around 87 degrees. My outside number today, well, right around the 82degree mark in the brentwood area, tracy, also discovery bay. Notice the significant drop in the temperature again on friday. Its going to feel very autumn like all the way through saturday.
