The Oakland City Council has approved a ballot measure that would create an independent police commission. City voters will decide in november. Four firefighters had minor injuries while battling the fire. But a wildfire burning some 100 miles away just north of big sur is making it even worse and that fire is only 10 contained. Health officials are warning children, the elderly and anyone with respiratory problems about the smoky air. Anyone who is outside doing any kind of activity if they start to feel unwell, if they have a scratchy throat or burn in the lungs or short of breaths, they should go inside. In a town called twin peaks deputies face a dire situation. They were trying to find a teen who had been dragged into the woods by her hair. But the officers had a good feeling that a bloodhound could find her. Thats a good girl. Her handler deputy stone said all the k9 needed way ascent article like clothing a scent article like clothing. Her purse was on the ground so he got a whiff of the bag and the bloodhound was all set to enter the woods and find that teen. And deputy stone says the dog saved the day in minutes. Took us through the woods. We popped out on to a street. We started going through like a Little Mountain neighborhood. And she just started circling around a house and let her work it out and she went to the front door and wouldnt leave. Inside, deputies arrested 18 yearold logan padburg.
