This time, someone was shot dead on highway 4 at 9 p. M. Last night in pittsburg near loveridge road. One person was fatally shot. The victims car ran off the highway into a fence on the california over. The vehicle was hit with at least four bullets and its windshield shattered. The chp had to shut down westbound 4 near loveridge exit for several hours. It wasnt the first time highway 4 saw violence. Two people were shot last year. A 19yearold woman died and days before that someone killed a 20yearold on the highway. Both cases were gangrelated. Highway 4 isnt alone with gun violence. There have been over a dozen shootings on 80 since november. The San Jose CityCouncil Meeting wrapped up at 2 a. M. This morning. The Council Passed a new cap on rent increases in the city but it made a decision to delay a freeze on rent hikes for a year so that they can do some more research. Hundreds packed the meeting at city hall. Renters say this is just the beginning of their fight. They are fighting for the lives of their families. Thank you, sir. Reporter he is calling the hearing with coast guard, National Park service and Surfrider Association to come up with warnings and solution for the strip of sand along the great highway.
