Traffic is moving okay on the bay bridge westbound into San Francisco. Drive times will be steady off the eastshore freeway. Not seeing any troubles as you work your way 80 carquinez bridge to the maze. And 19 minutes right now so thats an easy commute no delays coming out of 580 or 24. San mateo bridge easy ride so far if you are making that trek towards foster city. No delays between 880 and 101 right now. 13 minutes to make your way across the span this morning. Now, we have some roadwork northbound 280 at millbrae and crystal springs. The left lane is closed until 58 clock. Looks like were not seeing too many delays in the area so heads up through there. Northbound 101 also off to a good start if you are headed towards sfo. No delays from 92 to the 80 split. Thats only a 19minute ride this morning. And again 280 looks good 380 to 101 only 10 minutes and out of Half Moon Bay so far, so good eastbound 9 2 okay between 280 and 101 five minutes there. Lets jump to the south bay right now. 101 is off to a good start northbound out of san jose. No delays there. Looks like guadalupe parkway and 280 also checking in problemfree. Thats traffic. San mateo county will not pursue a plan to install billboards along interstate 280. The idea came to light a couple of weeks ago in a report from the county manager tom maltbie. It suggested billboards could generate millions for the county. But the deputy county manager telling the palo alto daily post billboards are banned along the stretch of 280 designated as a scenic highway. It may still be pursued on other county land. Bart hopes a hightech tool will help diagnose whats causing trains to short circuit. Engineers installed the device on a test train before sending it over the troubled section of track between the North Concord martinez and pittsburgbay point stations. It helped pinpoint the location where the electrical system is overloading. We did try to add a second train to the loop and then we experienced some propulsion problems with that train clearing showing it was overloading the system that the draw was too much to have two trains so its giving us a glimpse into what it can handle right now. It could be months before the problem is fixed. Expect delays. Some bart passengers had to deal with an even stranger situation. They had a pidgeon loose on the train. It was kind of fun. The pidgeon gone on the train yesterday morning. Commuters tried to grab him but the stowaway put up a fight. One man caught him and released him.
