And ac transit samtrans, vta and muni are free for another halfhour. Oakland police out in force last night trying to stop illegal celebrations that are a yearly tradition. Police were looking for illegal fireworks and gunshots in the city. A number of reports came in around 6 30 p. M. Like last night. They had increased presence on the streets but this year, they tried something new. Were deploying that increased staffing to specific areas that we consider hot spots or areas we have known in the past that have had a high increase of gunfire as well as violence and activity and they will respond to those calls. Reporter the special teams issued 29 traffic citations and they made 8 arrests last night. Last nights police flooded the streets of munich germany. They got a tip that the Islamic State group was planning attacks in the city with 5 to 7 suicide bombers. Police were warned to stay away from crowds and two train stations. But no threats at this time. An isis terror plot was averted in new york. Emanuel lutchman arrested on wednesday. The fbi says he was planning to attack a rochester bar. He bought a ski mask, ziptie and knives to carry out the attack in loyalty to isis. This morning hundreds of new laws go into effect f the fair pay act employer also have to justify any pay differences for men and women who do similar work. Concealed weapons will be banned on College Campuses and parents cant get a personal belief exemption for childhood vaccines. One other new law really caught our attention. But when it told fundraisers it had to pay sales tax on each ticket sold. We already paid tax on the goods when we go to the store and were buying the pancake breakfast. Reporter for every 1,000 they raised they pay 100 in sales tax. The 15 firefighters and the board felt they should get to keep all the money. We can actually use it to benefit our operations here keeping the lights on in the station or buying equipment for our rigs. Reporter la hondas idea to exempt all Volunteer Fire Department fundraisers from state taxes becomes state law tomorrow. They entered state senator jerry hills annual it ought to be a law contest. He chose their idea out of 400 and it passed unanimously through the legislature. Californias 250 all Volunteer Fire Departments benefits from this law, as well. Almost 29 of all Fire Departments are volunteer. And the money they raise, they should get every dime of it. Reporter so when the La Honda Fire Brigade raises some 30,000 from its annual crab dinner and pancake breakfast in 2016, they will get to keep all the proceeds. Shots were heard at turk and fillmore at 9 20. Two suspects fled in a white chevy. The victim is in the hospital condition unknown. Nicholas Joseph Louise was arrested in napa on wednesday after officers found the dead body of his five month old german shepherd. Police say he admitted to killing the dog and one neighbor said she never saw that dog but heard it. We had heard, um, over the last probably since they got the puppy that like a whimpering but we all just i mean, talk to other neighbors and we thought the dog didnt want to be i its pen. It was a far and furious heist thieves using a pricy stolen vehicle as their getaway car. Kpix 5s emily turner has the surveillance video. Icy conditions along highway 1 led to this crash yesterday. This van slid off the road into the water just south of tomales bay. It rolled once before landing on its wheels in about four feet of water. The driver took a fast turn on the frosty road. The driver made it out okay. Good news for bay area seafood lovers. Experts say some california crab is safe to eat again. Dungeness and rock crab sourced from the areas in Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo counties have been cleared.
