This is the proposition that seeks to impose tougher restrictions on shortterm rentals like those on airbnb. Prop f would limit them to 75 days a year. Current law States Residents may not have unhosted rentals for more than 90 days. This proposition would require Property Owners to provide proof that they authorized shortterm rentals to ensure hotels taxes are being paid and city codes complied with. This is arguably the most talked about proposition on the ballot. We have lost somewhere between 10,000 and 12,000 units of housing at a time when the city is suffering through its worst housing crisis in more than 100 years. Most of the units have become fulltime Tourist Accommodation instead of home for longterm tenants and residents. On the pro airbnb side you have gavin newsom and ed lee doing commercials in a well funded campaign. Thats how you win campaigns by spending a lot of money on tv. Reporter sticking with housing positively specifically to the Mission District where residents have their eyes on prop i and proposal to put a temporary moratorium on luxury housing for at least 18 months. The car you see on the side of the freeway was completely shot up. It happened on westbound 80 near San Pablo Dam road and Christin Ayers has what we know right now. Reporter a burst of and a sedan left riddled with bullets. The man in the car is hospitalized critical but stable after someone opened fire on him. We counted four bullet holes and one broken window. It happened after 4 p. M. Police and chp got reports of a shooting and a crash. The man who was shot was taken to john muir medical center. San pablo police say there were witnesses but right now, its unclear whether this was an act of road rage. Its hard to say what could have happened at this point. Theres so many options that you just dont know what could have been out there. So could there have been a break in traffic, could there have been a million witnesses . We dont know. Reporter the shooting brought rush hour traffic to a standstill with two lanes closed for hours before being reopened around 7 30. The shooter is still out there but police say the victim may be able to tell them who did it. Hopefully, with his help well be able to put this together easier. Reporter in the meantime investigators are still looking for witnesses in the crash. They say anyone who was on i80 around 4 20 should give them a call. San mateo bridge both directions off to a good start out of foster city into hayward no delays on the flip side if you are going westbound towards the peninsula. Traffic is light, 13 minutes through there. The golden gate bridge, kind of a ghost town not a lot of cars on the road. South 101, 580, very light. Thank you. Cyclists will have to wait for the bike path extension. It was slated to open this year but the new section from the bridge tower to the island will be delayed at least a couple more months.
