Then she turned around and she drove on the street and on the sidewalk. She hit a number of cars barely missed a man on a motorcycle and was headed right toward the officers. I was down the street and i heard, like, five shots or pops and then a break and then another five. The officers fearing for their safety and the safety of the community at large discharged their firearms at the driver. The woman died at the scene. She is in her late 20s or early 30s and police are still investigating whether the blue car was in fact stolen. A highspeed chase through four bay area counties ended with an suv rolling over and chp arresting the driver. It started in vacaville yesterday afternoon and covered three freeways ending in los altos hills. The chp put down a spike strip which deflated the cars tires. In the end, the driver of the pathfinder lost control. 24yearold ramon bernal walked way from the wreck and then was surrounded by officers with guns drawn. A scandal is growing in the San FranciscoPolice Department over racist and homophobic text messages. At least 10 more officers including a captain now under investigation. Thats on top of the four officers already implicated. The citys public defender is looking at hundreds of convictions over the past 10 years that may have to be thrown out now because of the officers bias. An initial test for biological agents tested negative but followup testing on tuesday showed a presumptive positive reading for cyanide. Customers will have to ask for it. Hotels will be required to offer guests the option of not having their linens and towels washed every day.
