Berkeley astronomer joshua bloom is one of the few people who got a warning about the quake several seconds before the shaking began. He is awakened by an alarm and voice that came from a small computer he built as a hobby. Earthquake,light shaking expected in seconds. Netflix has been very vocal about this issue. That is because they have been paying the Cable Companies a lot of money to make sure that their movies are streaming smoothly to their customers. The day is dubbed internet slowdown day. Its an online protest where websites big and small display banners to draw attention to the issue of Net Neutrality. Netflix, vimeo and others just to name a few are taking part. They warn against internet slow lanes saying its a bad idea since everyone on the internet should be treated equally. Representative anna eshoo blasted the fccs new law. I know what i dont want. I dont want this to become an auction selling off the best in bits and pieces, where some pay for faster lanes, others cant pay. They get stuck in the slow lane. Some giant company blocking content and others discriminating so they can sell their stuff to keep the other guys stuff stymied. Reporter and we should note that the websites themselves are not slowing down. This is just a symbolic protest, if you will. The protest is urging people to contact the white house, their local congressman and the fcc. Roger goodell told cbs this morning, no one in the nfl saw the Surveillance Video of rice punching his then fiancee until the website tmz posted it this week. And i would tell you that what we saw in the first videotape was troublings to in and of itself was troubling to us in and of itself. Goodell says there is a possibility rice to eventually return to the nfl.
