Police say brennan has admitted to it all by using a cigarette lighter to start the blazes with whatever he could find. Paper bags, a plastic glove, carpeting, dead plants, cardboard boxes saying he stuffed the items in windows, light it and walk away. He did it knowing people were inside the homes and that he was knowingly placing them in danger. Brennans record as a registered arsonist and sex offender stretches to 1999. He was convicted of setting 16 first to in the Santa Clara County foothills and setting fires in the grand Canyon National park.
