Reporter on the second floor of Childrens Hospital, 13yearold jahi mcmath is undergoing a series of neurological tests. Ordered by a judge to determine if she is in fact brain dead. I feel like my daughter is on death row. Because i never know when its going to pull the plug. Reporter that judge granted the girls family the gift of time. She will stay on a ventilator until at least december 30th. While an independent physician, this man, dr. Paul fisher evaluates her. The family is very relieved that her theyre trial will not their child will not be kills on Christmas Eve. Reporter shes been on life support for 12 days now. Her family is fighting to keep her alive even as the head of pediatrics at childrens describes her condition this way. Were very sorry about the complications which led to the death of jahi. Reporter the community has rallied behind girls family. Staging small marches at Childrens Hospital. Jahis family wants a doctor of their own choosing to evaluate the girl. Speaking outside the hospital a short time ago, her uncle said no matter what dr. Fisher says, the family will not give up. I believe my sister will want to keep fighting. Reporter her family says if all else fails, they are looking at placing jahi with a Research Facility possibly out of state. In oakland, Christin Ayers. Kpix 5. Reporter the pump is a critical part of the space stations cooling system. It broke down december 11th triggering the spacewalk to repair the system as quickly as possible. They expect failure over the life of a program thats gone on for this long. The trick is to be prepared for it when it happens and for the crew to be able to go and make the repair themselves.
