Reporter and if that wasnt enough, the thieves struck again yesterday, this time at station 3. But this time, there were firefighters inside. They tried to break in through a window in the back where one of the captains was sleeping and he obviously woke up, heard what was going on and scared the wouldbe burglar off. Honestly, when i read the story, i started to cry. Reporter judy and steve from a Jewelry Store were outraged by the breakins. They are now offering to help the firefighters. They say they will replace the stolen jewelry including the wedding rings. How do you describe people who would do is that . Walnut creek police are handling the case. Nobody got a look at the burglar. They are hoping the public will help them out. Well, a major fire burning up in Shasta County as well has destroyed more than 100 buildings and at least 30 homes so far. Its called the clover fire. It started on monday afternoon and since then, its burned some 6800 acres and more than 500 structures are threatened right now. The fire is burning in the Rural Community of happy valley. Thats about 10 miles south of redding. In some areas, check them out, these car skeletons and mobile home frames thats all thats left and at this hour the clover fire is only 40 contained. U. S. Secretary of state john kerry will head to switzerland tomorrow to meet with russias foreign minister. They will try to agree on a plan to have the Syrian Government turn over its chemical weapons. Richmond city council has voted to move ahead with studies on a plan to use Eminent Domain to help financially troubled homeowners in their city. Richmond would be the first city in the country to use such a tactic to help with underwater mortgages. The plan would allow homes to be refinanced at fair market value. Banks oppose it threatening lawsuits that could drain city funds. At this point we cannot jeopardize the city to accommodate unfortunately a few individuals that are under water. The mayor hopes to set up a joint Powers Authority with other cities interested in such a program. Bay area headlines. A mcdonalds manager is charged with robbing two Mcdonalds Restaurants at gunpoint. The San Mateo County times reports 42yearold Felix Becerra has confessed to the robbery. Employees say they were forced into the refrigerator during the robberies. One said she recognized her boss eyes behind the mask the robber wore. San francisco has filed a lawsuit against nevada saying the state has been busing psychiatric patients to San Francisco. The City Attorney says they transported 500 patients to San Francisco and 20 needed medical care. A spokesman for the state says it is aware of the lawsuit and plans to respond in court. 4 37. There are a few delays towards downtown but better news for this Traffic Alert down in san leandro. Southbound 880 by 238 an injury crash involving multiple vehicles. And around our bay today still comes, lots of sunshine this afternoon, 79 in san jose, 73 in fremont, about 66 in pacifica. East bay temperatures in the 70s and also the 80s. Then as you get inside the bay you will see a lot of 60s and low 70s into oakland. Next couple of days, well watch those temperatures slowly marching up the scale and probably max out about saturday. We will check in on our east bay commute once again the nimitz has been our problem spot since we have been on the air for the last hour or so we have seen a number of areas of roadwork and accidents. All the accidents are clear. Unfortunately the roadwork is still out there causing a delay. You notice that drive time at the bottom of your screen, thats in the northbound direction. So up to about 20 minutes right now. Not too bad of a delay, 15 minutes between 238 and the maze. But check this out. This is where all the bottleneck is right there approaching high street and it continues up towards the embarcadero exit. So southbound looks a whole lot better as you make your way now towards hayward because that accident has been cleared in san leandro. Morgan fire all local roads have reopened. We saw the highway 4 commute really taking the brunt of this because all the roads were closed around clayton. Right now, everything looks good on highway 4 out of antioch and all the local roads are reopened as well and the bay bridge toll plaza no delay at all coming into San Francisco. Thats traffic. Now, the lot at the north end of rodeo beach if the Golden Gate National Recreation Area is used on busy beach days. Kpix 5s don ford shows us how the dirt lot will soon be flowing once again with flora and fauna. Reporter 100yearold roads throughout the Golden Gate National park Marin Headlands are being rebuilt. This parking lot near rodeo beach has got to go too. We are actually going to be able to rethis large dirt overflow parking area into the wetlands that it once was. During world war ii it was a Commando Training School and this is also where they assembled the big guns later installed in the hills. Its a very tight time frame. Put it back to what is considered a natural state that probably was 100 years ago before, you know, people ever came out here in the civil war. Reporter special native plants are being carefully raised in this nursery for the project like spreading rush, california blackberry and seaside daisy. Officer robert dale was on duty and responded to the commotion. He was having agonal breathing which is labored breathing that is reflexive of nature. He grabbed one of the airports nearby defibrillators and went to work alternating between using the tools electric shot, Chest Presses and cpr. He was able to bringing nunez back after 4 minutes. I was thrilled that the training that i had was able to help somebody save their life. Reporter nunez suffered a kind of heart spasm called an arrhythmia. Everybody and everything was in the right place at the right time. Perfect moment for something i like to to happen.
