home of mike mccue. donors paid $2,500 ahead. and after that it was on to the home of portola valley venture capitalist vinod khosla. the cost of sitting down to dinner with the president, around $32,000 a plate. the money will go toward democratic senatorial campaigns. mr. bush told donors he is starting to see some functionality in washington, but he says he is still not getting cooperation he needs from congress. after this morning's speech he goes to southern california for a two-day economic summit with the president of china. the chinese president arrived yesterday. cyber security will be one of the main topics of discussion. the u.s. has accused china of using hackers to steal military secrets. they deny the charges. if you are commuting in san jose you might bump in the president's motorcade so with more on traffic, let's go to liz. >> reporter: over to the south bay now, taking a look at the major freeways around san jose. looks good on the guadalupe parkway and 101. outside friday morning commute off to a nice start at 880 and 237 for any silicon valley commuters. bart off to a nice friday start with 18 trains on time. that's a check on your "timesaver traffic." lawrence has the forecast. it's going to be hot in the bay area starting today. these temperatures likely to soar beginning with some low clouds and fog early on today. the temperatures mainly in the 50s but you will see yellow on the map so very warm air above the surface is coming down to ground level later on. patchy fog filling in at the bay some of it dense at the coast. by the afternoon these temperatures are going to soar especially inland. it's going to get hot in the valleys. yesterday we topped out in the 80s. today we are going to the upper 90s. as much as 11, 12 degrees warmer than yesterday, 88 in santa rosa. san francisco still staying at a mild 68 degrees. we'll have more on this heat wave coming up. today it's georgia and carolina's turn to get drenched by tropical storm andrea. the eastern seaboard can expect extremely wet and blustery weather throughout the weekend even though andrea is losing some steam. isolated flooding is possible. cbs news's susan mcginnis has more on the problems andrea left behind down in florida. reporter: the clean-up has already begun in florida after tropical storm andrea came ashore thursday. the storm spawned several tornadoes. the gonzalez family was holed up in their palm beach county home as the twister moved through their yard. >> you could hear stuff in the house. >> reporter: the sunshine state has damaged stretching from the gulf coast to the atlantic and now, as andrea moves to georgia, the carolinas and virginia, the real threat is flooding. >> look at this potential rainfall map taking us into saturday afternoon. we are talking about a wide swath of 2 to 5" of rain from south florida all the to new england. >> reporter: flood watches are in effect from central virginia up the i-95 corridor into connecticut. andrea is still a day away from impacting long island. but this is the first big storm to hit the area since superstorm sandy and many residents are taking precautions. >> i'm going to batten down the hatches, put stuff up off the floor in the basement just in case. >> reporter: yvonne santana lives on arizona street in long beach, new york. here construction is an everyday reminder of the storm that took so much from them last year. santana says the idea of more severe weather worries her. >> we are hearing about bad weather and storms. what's going to happen? >> reporter: her neighbor laughs off the storm. >> it's just rain, no storm. >> reporter: augustine just moved back into her home a week and a half ago and said she wouldn't livni where else. susan mcginnis, cbs news, long beach, new york. >> and we have some live pictures in savannah, georgia, of andrea and it looks like it's starting to peter out a bit. not too bad in the georgia area right now. andrea is not expected to reach hurricane status. it will likely lose its tropical storm designation sometime tonight if not earlier. the latest on the damage from the powerhouse fire in northern l.a. county. 24 homes have been destroyed. also burned, 29 outbuildings. the fire is 83% contained. they are still expecting it will be early next week before they have a line all the way around the fire that started last thursday. it's cost more than $11 million to fight it so far. attend, bay area shoppers! grocery chain raley's says they may have been the victim of a cyber attack compromising your personal information at their stores. kpix 5's sue kwon is in san pablo low and how hackers got through and the chain's warning to customers. >> reporter: that's right. this involves the chain several store brands nob hill, raley's, bel air and food stores. the grocery chain said it had its computer systems hacked containing shopper information. they did ask the fbi for help in this. and apparently, they believe it's cyber attacks where credit and debit card numbers were stolen. at least one shopper has had fraudulent activity on her credit card. it was reported last thursday on vitamins and videogames that showed up on her card. her credit union cause the suspicious activity closed the account and notified the store. >> we had security measures in place and cyber security is a never-ending battle. cyber criminals are sophisticated. >> makes me nervous but sadly it reaches almost everywhere. >> now, raley's says that as you heard it did have some security in place but today, it has been enhanced. no details on how that was done. if you shopped at raley's, bel air, nob hill, food source or aisle one, check it. no p.i.n.s were sacrificed and they don't collect social security information or driver's license numbers. so you shouldn't have your identity stolen. officials are looking into it and don't know the source of the attack. >> thank you. raley's is posting updates on its website. there, customers can find a hotline for more information. fbi says a trio of serial bank robbers is operating here in the bay area. the men hit yesterday morning at the bank of america in san francisco's parkside neighborhood. they are also linked to robberies of money in san francisco and one down in millbrae. a fourth happened at a san francisco wells fargo bank in april. here's some surveillance pictures of the robbers. investigators say they always dressed in black hoodies and masks and they are armed with handguns. during the holdups, they jump over tellers' counters to get at the money and take off in light-colored sedan. police are asking for help in trying to hunt these guys down. san francisco police are scanning surveillance video to track the three men who shot up a muni bus yesterday. investigators say they got off the 19 polk in potrero hill yesterday about 2:15 then turned and opened fire through a window hitting a passenger. the bus driver, though, quickly drove away and straight to san francisco general's emergency room entrance. the victim is expected to survive. police are now investigating if he knew those suspects. another tree signature protest this time -- tree- sitting protest this time in san francisco over plans to develop a 2-acre plot of land. for the past couple of years it's been a family farm. now city officials want the land available for development. tree-sitters and protestors hope to keep the land available for urban farming. they plan a news conference this morning. things should be back to normal today in vallejo where crews had to deal with four water main breaks yesterday. in one case, the water shot 60 feet into the air near some high voltage power lines. water had to be shut off at several homes near those leaks so crews could do the repairs. a south san francisco man is set to be sentenced today after pleading no contest to charges that he kidnapped his two young children. authorities say christopher moffey spent three days on a stolen yacht before the coast guard intercepted the boat. he faces four years in county jail. 4:39. california's high-speed rail project now has a contractor but critics are complaining about that. the rail authority yesterday awarded the billion-dollar contract to southern california-based tutor perini, the low he is bid out of the five companies bidding but the company apparently has the lowest score for safety and design. critics say it is notorious for cost overruns. high-speed rail authorities say tutor perini is highly qualified. >> they did build bart to the san francisco airport. they also built the international airport terminal. and i don't believe that history will show that either of those projects was plagued by the kind of overruns that have been talked about here. >> groundbreaking for the first leg of the bullet train in the central valley is set for this summer and you can hear from the contractor. just go to our website, kpix.com. time now is 4:40. coming up, why queen elizabeth's husband had to be hospitalized. >> plus, a kansas jail says they cannot spare a single square. why they are setting a limit on toilet paper use. >> the great white lie. fake shark warning signs posted at area beaches. why some surfers had their doubts in the first place. ,,,,,,,,,, hey, look! temperatures outside. some of the numbers near 100 in the afternoons. right now, we are starting out with clouds early on even some drizzle toward the coastline. and some dense fog over skyline boulevard. as we head toward the afternoon though, plenty of sunshine inside the bay. 70s and 80s. you're looking at upper 90s though in some of the interior valleys. much cooler at the coastline though. and only into the 60s. so here we go. high pressure building in, a strong ridge now in place. it's going to hang around for the next couple of days. that is going to crank up the temperatures. but we're still seeing enough of a sea breeze to keep the temperatures cool at the coastline but boy, the numbers will get very hot in some of the interior valleys. starting out with patchy fog early on. that should give way to mostly sunny skies toward the afternoon. then those temperatures are going to soar outside in many spots not only here but around the state. 104 in sacramento. 105 in fresno. a chance we could see some thunderstorms into lake tahoe and about 108 degrees in redding. around the bay 94 degrees today. morgan hill 86 in san jose. and about 85 degrees in mountain view. east bay numbers soaring as high as 97 degrees in brentwood, 97 in livermore, and about 97 degrees in fairfield. inside the bay you will see sunshine and mid-70s into oakland and 68 degrees in san francisco. out over the next couple of days maybe hotter for tomorrow pushing near triple digits by the afternoon. then everybody is going to see some clouds rolling in come sunday and those temperatures really going to take a hit and much cooler weather as we look toward next week. let's check the roads with elizabeth. >> reporter: thanks, lawrence. and some people may hit some looks like they may have picked up some roadwork ahead of schedule. they had some approaching high street like they usually do but i'm not seeing any flashing lights. checking some bridges now and here's a look at the san mateo bridge, the right side of your screen that is westbound 92. traffic out of hayward is cruising along. and so far, we are "friday light" over at the bay bridge usually it's light at this time of the morning anyway, but we do have our usual roadwork on the upper deck and lower deck roadwork several lanes blocked until about 6:30 this morning. that's a check of your students, teachers and parents is fed up with conditions at castlemont high. dozens protested in front of the east oakland campus yesterday to voice their concerns to oakland unified. their biggest issues, campus safety, teacher training and dwindling resources. >> we have had consistent instability here at the school repeated decisions by the district without our consent that caused unrest at
