A fairfield man is set to be arraigned wednesday in the case of a murdered 13yearold girl. Anthony lamar jones was arrested friday suspected of killing Genelle Conway Allen whose nude body was found a week earlier in fairfields allan witt park. Restraining order documents suggested he had grown increasingly violent in the days before the murder. In the documents, jones he is strange wife described a recent incident in which they were together in a car. Heres one quote. Palo alto Police Released this sketch of an Armed Robbery suspect described as a black male in his late 20s, early 30s, about 58 with a thin build. Detectives are also investigating possible links to another Armed Robbery that happened back in january. The city of oakland is trying several strategies in an effort to curb crime. A passenger was taken to a hospital with minor injuries. But the drive was hurt more seriously with head injuries. They had to make a pinpoint landingon the narrow road. Specialized rescue crews from the San Jose Fire Department were called to extricate the driver through difficulties. The access problems, steepness, injuries to the patient, getting him out of the car at that level. It took about two hours to bring the driver to the road surface. He was then flown to a trauma center. The corvettes windshield is crushed on the drivers side and took hours to lift it up. So some tricky maneuvering for those crews out there. Pope benedict xvi made the announcement this morning he is resigning from his position as head of the Catholic Church effective at the end of the month saying he is too old and too weak to continue so he made the decision to step down. One of his biggest tasks as pope was to oversee the churchs response to the priest sexual abuse scandal. He issued a public apology for people being abused at the hands of the clergy and said the church made serious mistakes in responding to allegations. I think hes brought a certain stability to the church in the light of the crisis of the sexual abuse crisis which it needed very much. Now, Roman Catholic cardinals will hold a conclave or meeting to pick the new pope. Only cardinals are allowed to take part in the meeting held in the sistine chapel. There will be two voting rounds a day until they choose a successor. The vote has to have twothirds majority. Most conclaves will last a few days. Now, once the cardinals all agree, the chosen one will say, accepto, a puff of white smoke will emerge from the chimney and bells will toll as the cardinal appears at the Center Window of st.
