They stayed longer and a cousin was killed in a separate shooting in east oakland and they were going to stay for the funeral so its tragedy on top of tragedy. I dont know whats worse whether the fact that 1year old drew jackson is now oaklands youngest victim. A family grieves holding on to one another in disbelief. Reportedly the family confirms 1yearold drew jackson the baby in this photo died after he was taken to the hospital with gunshot wounds. Family members also confirmed the boys father 20yearold Andrew Thomas died in this mornings shooting. Several shots were fired into the window. He is the youngest homicide victim in oakland and he is among a growing number of children caught in the crossfire. Nine Young Children have been shot in oakland this year. Two have died. Several children have been shot and killed within this last year. And its not only concerning but troubling. Reporter now officers are looking for leads hoping neighbors might know why this house and why this family. We are going to really need to depend on each other to share this information. This is a tragedy. Other people were in the house. Reporter just the one bedroom was shot into which begs the question why. Any information on a suspect or suspects involved . The carryonle is is reporting that police are looking into the fact that it might have been retaliation and they are looking into the fact that there might be more than one suspect. I just stepped outside of the proceedings. Within the last hour, we learned how far apart both sides really are. 100million apart according to bart negotiatedders and according to their projections. So far only bart management is giving their side offering a 9 raise over the course of the next four years. Plus, employees must pay their pensions, they are not paying any pensions now. And they will have to pay more for their healthcare. Barts gm explained this is a critical time for bart. They want to reinvest into new trains for bart. And she says one of the problems is the rising costs of healthcare. Workers in private and Public Sector are paying about 4,000 towards the cost of their Health Premium more than four times more than the 92 a month that bart employees pay. We dont know if this has anything to do with her job. But as far as we know she has no enemies. Reporter they are friends think her disappearance her friends think they are disappearance may have something to do with her dog stolen during a home burglary in may. At one point two men asked for 1,000 ransom for the dog. Meanwhile, coke put up missing posters all around the east bay. All we can imagine is it that she is that she went to meet somebody about a tip about the dog and said she would be home within a half hour and hasnt been heard from since. Her car was found tuesday night two miles away on 32nd street. Her work cell phone was found in emeryville and her personal cell in richmond. That second cell phone was found at the intersection of wilson and macdonald in richmond very close to i80 so it is possible someone threw the phone out a car window from the highway above. Friends and family members say it is very much out of character for coke to be out of touch. This is every family members nightmare. My sister is the devoted mother of a 15yearold daughter and who really needs her. [ crying ] and so as you can imagine, this is just been like a nightmare for her and for the family.
