Reporter what exactly happened in this bizarre and deadly car crash is still mostly a mystery. But this man has gone from person of interest to suspect and fugitive. Police issued an arrest warrant for 23yearold alex alcazar from milpitas. They say he caused the crash which left a 14yearold san jose girl dead. The traffic investigators investigation, additional evidence was brought forward that we believe that mr. Alcazar drove the vehicle at the time of the accident. Reporter it happened in the earlymorning hours of february 4. Police say alcazars 1992 cadillac slammed into a garbage truck then drove another half mile on bare rims leaving a trail of car parts behind. When Police Caught up to the car, it was on fire. On the street next to the wreckage was the dead body of a 14yearold girl. Police called her an innocent victim. At this time we believe she was the front passenger in the vehicle. Reporter police say alcazar ran from the crash and hasnt been seen since. He is charged with felony hit andrun, reckless driving and driving on a suspended license. Police are still investigating the relationship between alcazar and the girl. Anytime death is involved to an innocent person, its always a priority for the Milpitas Police department. It happened about 4 00 near the santa clara station. She was taken to the hospital. No word on her condition. No one on the train was injured. All the tracks are now open but delays still go from 20 to 40 minutes. A sad end to the search for a missing hiker. A man was found dead when he didnt return from a hike. More than 50 rescuers started looking for him. This morning, chopper 5 spotted a search dog working a grassy hillside. Meyers was walking a trial in the sunol regional wilderness. When he didnt turn up the search began on the ground and in the air. Our helicopter was circling one of the highest peaks in the area and they located what appeared to be a body in one of the caves. A helicopter was used to carry the medical examiner and other investigators to the site where the body was found. Authorities believe meyers may have lost his footing and fell down a hillside. Teenagers being charged as adults in the killing of an oakland mother. Chyemil pierce was shot last month as she tried to protect her children from a gun battle going on in west oakland. Julian ambrose is the 7th person now to be arrested and charged in connection with the shooting. Ambrose is 16 years old. He will be tried on murder and attempted murder charges. Looks like the drought may be responsible for killing hundreds of tule elk. More than 250 elk died inside a fence preserve at Point Reyes National seashore between 2012 and 2014. During the same period, the population of free roaming elk at point reyes increased by a third. The National Park service says those elk had more access to water. An auction house on the east coast was going to sell 450 photos and artifacts. Several groups from around the country protested the planned sale. One couple from sacramento decided to contact the auction house directly. They say they are still traumatized by what happened to their parents during world war ii. It carries a big emotional charge. There are material culture and they will eventually be used to tell the story of this terrible social injustice. The value of the items is said to be at least 25,000. But to japaneseamericans they are priceless. This month marks the 40th anniversary of the end of the vietnam war, the fall of saigon. Thousands escaped to the United States leaving behind chaos and the risk of death to build new futures in a new land. One of those dramatic events unfolded at the presidio in San Francisco. Reporter the bigger shock an asian man in vietnam took the same test. It turns out, he is tricias biological father. He has been searching for her for years. Tricia went back to meet him for the first time. He is grateful to my mom who raised me and wrote her a letter and gave her a thank you gift.
