Which is perfect for me, because i think everything should just work. Works . Works. Works works . Works. Works. In 2014 the giants were the 7th Healthiest Team in baseball. They just lost their most durable player in spring training. It happened in the 6th inning of the giants against the cubs. Cory black threw and inside pitch and drilled hunter pence on the forearm. A fracture in his left ulnar. He played in 383 straight games. That streak ends as the giants right fielder is expected to miss six to eight weeks. Trying to move out of the way, and kind of ran and caught him there and the Silver Lining is its early in the spring so at least well have a month to start the healing process. As in the other half of the cubs split squad. Thats barry zito his First Cactus League start retiring the first five batters he faced but gave up a tworun blast on a changeup in the second inning. Zito struck out two in two innings. His fastball was from 87 to 89 miles per hour. Tied 22. Darnell dockett has been harassing 49ers quarterbacks for a decade with the cardinals. Today he signed a twoyear 7. 5 million deal with San Francisco and he is going to replace ray mcdonald along that defensive line. Dockett who missed all of last year with a torn acl said, alls i can say for San Francisco is they won the lottery. No more powerball in oakland though. Raiders runningback Maurice Jones through retiring. He went to three pro bowls with the jags but rushed for only 96 yards last season with the raiders. Oakland released Lamarr Woodley today. They are 64 million under the salary cap. Seems like a two horse race rate now between steph curry and the rockets star james harden for the nba mvp. The warriors are letting currys play do the talking but houstons general manager has all but put harden on a wheaties box and the warriors are noticing. I dont think its our job to promote. It were trying to win games. We have a lot of work to do. So, you know, if he wants to run his own one man campaign for james harden, he can do that, thats fine. But were focused on other stuff. Curry is going to win it. You know,. Its been a difficult start to the baseball season for the usf dons but in the history of the program, no player has carried as much cachet as their first baseman Manny Ramirez, jr. This is the Perfect Place for me. Reporter he is the son of a baseball player who was booed for years in San Francisco yet Manny Ramirez, jr. , hopes to sit high on the hilltop at usf. I hope it puts people in the seats and gets them excited about the program. Reporter at 19 he was on the fast track to the big leagues where he hit 555 home runs. At the same age his son is still trying to crack usfs starting lineup. Its tough going right now because people expect Manny Ramirez, jr. , to be Manny Ramirez. Reporter hard not to expect that from a kid who spent summers in big league ballparks. The dons first baseman takes nothing for granted even with a godgiven swing that wasnt coached much by his father. He doesnt really try to tinker much. Just its more about the mentality and the approaches that what we really talk about more than the swing. Reporter but nothing has prepared him for carrying around the baggage of his fathers name. Im back [ laughter ] reporter for a time, he was baseballs biggest lightning rod pulling off stunts that could only be described as manny being manny. Junior says its hard to avoid certain criticism. You hear all the negativity that my dad brings but i mean at the end of the day they dont know who he is they just see what the media portrays him as. He hears that from everyone, youre not as good as your dad, wow, thats Manny Ramirez. He hears the negative side of that. But i think its just people jealous. People are just people saying things. I think you have to be pretty guarded if youre him to live up to that expectation. So when i get a smile out of him, its special. You know . It will warm you up. Its like wow, i earned that smile. So yeah. We were just talk, ken and i were just talking about the fatherson who ken griffey and ken griffey junior and bobby and barry bonds. Right now manny junior is patting. 182 with three runs batted in and one rbi. He has a ways to go but you can see him cheap at usf. Eastbound 24 reopening now.
