A suspected drunk driver is under arrest after hitting a skate border in the tera hills area of richmond. Lacardo currently serves on the city council. Hes locked in a tight race with dave cortezzi. He has major backers including five former San Jose Police chiefs. There has been a major drop in violent gangrelated crime in san jose. Police say its down more than 70 since january. Homicides also dropped by nearly 21 in the first half of this year and serious crimes are down by about 9 overall. Last year Violent Crime in san jose hit its Second Lowest level in a decade. Half the courtrooms in San Francisco were closed today because about half the Court Workers went out on strike. Many of those Union Employees walked a oneday picket line outside the three courthouses in the city. One of the big issues in contract negotiations is the courts 16 million reserve Spending Fund that went to balance the budget and Retiree Health plans. Workers say they deserve some of that money in a raise. Responding to the strike, Court Administrators released these numbers. They show San FranciscoCourt Workers are the highest paid in the bay area at more than 88,000 a year. Compare that to san mateo at 69,000. And santa clara, 65,000. Its the culmin ation of two years worth of effort and hopefully this will serve as an example for airports around the country with the first airport in california, second airport in the United States to really create a structure to legally authorize one of these companies to operate at an airport. Spokesman doug yagle says that structure includes first having a permit, agreeing to pay the 385 per trip airport fee, and side car must provide a way to report its number of monthly rides. It will be adding an additional 4 for rides. Yagle says uber and lyft are still in discussions with the airport. How do we know uber and lyft arent doing this illegally . Cost us the game. When you laid down the bunt did you feel like you put it in position where the pitcher was going to have a tough time making that play . Yeah, definitely. I try to do that even if i bunt the ball to sacrifice. Im never going to give up even if i sacrifice myself, i always try. I put a nice bunt and run as fast as i can. Obviously this ball park and the wind had other ideas but when i first hit it i thought it had a great chance at going out. This part in the season any hit i can do to help the team out is huge.
