If you are hit at 40 miles an hour or over, its a huge chance that youre going to be injured severely. So is paris. I think its a good idea. It will make the streets safer especially for bikes. Cabbies say Rideshare Companies are taking away their business. Now that uber and lyft have oversaturated the roads with these efforts to enlist so many new drivers, its they are not making any money either and were just driving around in a big giant parking lot. The bill comes after 6year old sophia liu was struck and killed in San Francisco by an ubercontracted driver. His app was on at the time, but he was not transporting anyone. Reporter from the outside you would hardly know that history is being made on the inside the first of two giant cutting heads being lifted out of the tunnel they just finished digging. Although the main bores are finished it hasnt been easy on the neighborhood. For months traffic has been choked with constant dust and noise. Worked all night and has little tractors and things beeping. Reporter next door is the pelligrini restaurant. Its been tough on business. And owner dario hajan wants the neighborhood back to normal. Were at a point where were pulling the tunnel boring machines out and by the end of the year these machines will be gone and so will we. The lawsuit contends that he needs at least 37 million in order to make ends meet just for medical purposes. The hierarchy of the dodgers was a total mess. Two years ago, matthew started the oakland youth first program, to introduce kids to industries and hopefully careers that many urban teens may never have considered. I watched a transition over and over. They say, i never believed that i would be on a boat in a harbor next to Million Dollars boats and powering one up and down the bay. Reporter to introduce kids to the maritime industry, he raised money to buy a boat. Kids in the Program Learn about navigation, the environment, safety and team work on board. Its hands on. Everything is hands on. Reporter being part of a crew teaches students valuable job skills. It teaches you how to be patient and teaches you how to be like a team leader and dependable and helpful. Reporter matthew a Systems Engineer and technical consultant said he started oakland youth first to make a difference. Growing up as a foster kid i have a unique understanding of needs. First need is family and acceptance and selfesteem and team building. Reporter at his office in west oakland, their flight simulators where boys and girls can actually earn hours toward a pilots license. There is even a room set up like a control tower to track planes in realtime as they fly over the bay area. The air Traffic Controller job just needs a high school education. And you can make over 60,000 a year with a high school education. Reporter in the last two years, this program has shown over 200 students new possibilities, helping them set a new course for their future. A doll and a mothers appeal are helping to raise the spirits of little girls with cancer going through chemo. A girl in los angeles who is battling leukemia loves her new doll named ella. Mattel made a few of the dolls which are bald so the mother of another cancer patient started an online petition urging the company to make more. I think in 10 minutes we got 1,000 signatures. They will make more dolls and distribute them to hospitals around the country. We have rain on the way for the bay area but when i say little, were stretching the definition.
