The apparent target was this maserati. Bullet holes are visible in the windshield. It ak that caused the sports car to smash into a taxi, which ignited a fireball. The maserati traveled through what we believe was a red light at a high rate of speed striking several vehicles. One of those vehicles was a local cab that also caught on fire as a result of the impact. Reporter the shooting happened right outside some of the most famous casinos on the strip. Guests could see the chaos from their windows. There was a loud boom. And then i heard two other booms. And i looked out my window up here in caesars palace. Reporter the driver of the maserati was killed along with the taxi driver and the passenger in that cab. Police are searching for the range rover which still had paper license plates. Investigators think the shooting may have followed an earlier confrontation at one of the hotels. They are checking out state agencies in the search for leads. Thank you. A Bay Area High School football coach blew the whistle on player hazing but he is the one who got sacked. Now that coach is suing the school. His attorney told kpix 5s cate caugiran he got fired for doing the right thing. Reporter Chris Cerbone was the head football coach at st. Patrickst. Vincent high school in vallejo. In december he claimed freshman players told him about sexual hazing between teammates. Chris learned of activity that he believed reasonably was illegal. He reported it to the proper authorities. And he got punished as a result. And thats exactly what California Law prohibits. Reporter after an investigation into these claims was complete, all other coaches suspended with cerbone were reinstated. He and his attorney believe cerbone was the scapegoat in this situation. Cerbone says School Leaders told him he was responsible for the students actions. His Attorney Says thats not the case. We believe that ultimately it was the dean of students, it was the principal, it was the Senior Administrative staff that was responsible for supervising the kids during that period, which was after school let out but before football practice began. While the activists celebrated their victory at the City Hall Press conference, the seven workers received their checks in a separate room. Those workers declined to talk or appear on camera. So we just will stay mainly dry. For the next three storms that ridge doesnt move so this pattern doesnt change. A lot of rainfall for other parts of the west coast namely oregon and washington. But very little if any for us. Well be dry for another week likely dry to the beginning of march. Ill show you futurecast.
