Unseasonably warm to hot weather in our inland areas. We all pretty much agree its been a hot summer away from the bay. Today the triple digits will continue in the yellow highlighted areas. So its not all nine counties here in the bay area. Its pretty much away from the water and we have had no recovering overnight. Very little. Its still near 80 degrees at the top of mount diablo after realizing a High Temperature yesterday, 106 at the base of mount diablo. Heres sunrise right now over mount vaca. Boy, haze in the air, but it is not a spare the air day. Temperaturewise, anywhere from the 50s to the 60s after realizing 101 in livermore on tuesday. Its now 69 degrees. Going up to a High Temperature there today again, 101, 102, hottest locations will top off at 104 degrees towards the delta. Full forecast is coming up at 18 minutes after the hour. But right now, lets send it on over to michelle. This intense heat wave is forcing many in the bay area to find somewhere to cool off. And one waterpark has just what the doctor ordered. Dr. Gonzalez ordered it Jessica Flores is live in dublin at the wave waterpark where guests can splash for free. Reporter this is a popular place where people can beat the heat and today, its going to be free. Actually tonight between 6 and 8 p. M. , here the pool will be free and the splash zone for kids. You can cool off there. For adults, theres other places you can cool off, too. A lot of cooling centers around the bay, libraries, Senior Centers, Community Centers, some extending hours to cool down. You wont have to use your own ac. But if you dont need to use airconditioning, pg e has some ways to bring down your bill. They offer Financial Assistance for customers with the care program. It gives people discounts on their energy bills based on income or participation in public assistance programs. The program is around since 1989 but a lot of customers arent even aware of it. The care program is an excellent option. It can reduce your bill by 20 . And right now, we know 84,000 customers in the bay area are eligible and have not signed up. Reporter so you heard her. About 10,000 customers there could sign up for that assistance. Along with the care program, pg e offers programs like budget billing that lets you average your bill over the year so you pay the same every month. Now, a heat advisory is extended through thursday for east bay hills, santa cruz mountains, and the north bay mountains. You want to remember to check your car before locking it, make sure your kids, pets and elderly neighbors and maybe grandparents are okay. You want to call them and make sure that they have a ride to a cooling center or have their ac on. You also want to make sure to water up. If you are thirsty, thats too late. In just a few hours, a judge could decide if three men should stand trial in a political corruption case. Keith jackson, zula may jones and nataliely mow handlinger have all pleaded not guilty. They are accused of taking bribes and laundering Political Campaign donations in 2012. They reportedly exchanged favors to get rid of mayor lees campaign debt. The three are set to face a judge at 9 a. M. Theres new information about crime in the bay area. The number of homicides is on the rise in San Francisco. This morning, dea chief Chuck Rosenberg refuses to accept President Trumps comments about how those being arrested should be treated. This comes a week after the president tweeted to reinstate the ban on transgender people in the service. Retired military leaders said they disagree and the president claims transgender in the military costs too much and disrupts other service members. They cite Rand Corporation and new england journal of medicine saying the financial cost is at most 8. 4 million a year. It a small part of the military healthcare budget. So part of their statement reads, this proposed ban if implemented would cause significant disruptions, deprive the military of Mission Critical talent and compromising the integrity of transgender troops to would be forced to live a lie. The driver of a bus that crashed last year killing 4 people has been charged with manslaughter. The bus veered off highway 99 in Merced County in august. Reporter the biggest headline from this report is that homicides are up. By the end of july 2016, there had been 30 but were already at 41 this year. According to this mornings s report, robberies are up from 1,525 to 1,594. Aggravated assaults dropped from 1,326 to 1,246. And Human Trafficking cases decreased as well from 34 to 12. The examiner is reporting that this is the first time the sfpd has released its monthto month report since february and its a pared down version of the previous report. This morning, a 17yearold boy who jumped out of a plane on the sfo tarmac is set to undergo a Mental Health evaluation. The teenager was traveling alone on a Copa Airlines flight from panama city to San Francisco. The plane landed on the tarmac at sfo at about 2 30 yesterday afternoon and then the teen burst out of an emergency exit. He jumped off the plane. Passengers told us that some people started shouting when they realized both the door and the boy were gone. The teen was detained by construction workers trained to spot suspicious behavior and then later taken into custody by immigration and border patrol. Time is 6 40. Recently several officers had to be checked out when some sort of gas reportedly leaked into the departments ford explorer. The test did not show any Carbon Monoxide but the department is not taking any chances. They tested on vehicles coming straight from ford outfitted as Police Vehicles but not modified yet. Then they tested on a vehicle that had been modified to be able to go right into patrol meaning headlight bars and some of the Computer Systems being put into it. The department and city want to be safe. Thats important. Federal regulators are looking into the issue and other Police Departments have reported the same possible leak.
