So far 4,000 homes and apartments are cleared for re entry. 70 people are still in shelters. A lot of people in the bay area are experiencing these rain showers. We shouldnt see any flash flooding or even any real localized flooding but, of course, well have puddles and ponding on the roads. Take it slow. I was shocked driving down union city earlier this week in the middle of the morning commute how fast people were going. Despite the Weekend Storms, repair work on a landslide thats destroying marine boulevard in moraga could wrap up next week according to the city public works department. The road has been closed in both directions between fernwood and via barcelona for nearly a year now. The repairs cost moraga 2. 6 million. Today the board for the Golden Gate Bridge district will vote on fare increases as it faces a 51 million budget deficit. Under the plan, ferry prices could go up 25 to 50 cents per ride each way depending whether payment is cash or clipper card. Bus fares up by the same amount. Increase may take effect on july 1. In a few hours a celebration is planned in a new bart station in the east bay. It was supposed to open two years ago. Maria medina reports. Reporter you know, we may live in Silicon Valley, but they couldnt get the new bart technology to work with the old existing bart technology. Thats why theres a twoyear delay to have the station open but starting tomorrow as you said, the new warm springs bart station will open up. I got to tell you, this place is massive. The design of the station started back in 1992. But after lots of delays with the community and government officials, it is opening up now 25 years later. The u. S. Small Business Administration announced this week it would open an office to help people get the money they need to rebuild. Once an application is completed, it usually takes two to three weeks before the funds are dispersed. Keeping fingers crossed definitely. These guys the sba has brought a light to our tunnel. The first light that we have seen since this all took place. According to the office, people can borrow up to 40,000 for personal property losses and homeowners can borrow up to 200,000 to repair their residences. People in San Mateo County can apply for lowinterest loans to cover the cost of storm damage. The sba is offering a variety of disaster loans but the Property Damage had to be between february 1 and 25. Homeowners can apply for loans up to 200,000. There are new details about possible ties between the Trump Campaign and russia. Cnn reports the fbi has proof that people connected to the campaign were in contact with russia. It goes on to say it appears they were giving the thumbs up to release information when it was ready. The director of the fbi does confirm the agency is investigating the campaigns ties to russia. The standard is i think a couple of different at play, credible allegation of wrongdoing or reasonable basis to believe that an american may acting as an agent of a foreign power. The fbi is now reviewing information which includes human intelligence, travel, business and phone records and accounts of inperson meetings. Meanwhile, here at home, the California Senate passed a resolution for congress to order an independent investigation into the ties. It also calls for trump to release his tax returns to show freedom from any conflict of interest with russia. The federal Appeals Court plans to hear arguments in may over the Trump Administrations travel ban. The Fourth Circuit court of appeals made the announcement yesterday. That means the order banning travel from six muslim countries could potentially be stalled for weeks. The federal government is asking the court to reverse a ruling by a federal judge in maryland that called for a nationwide halt to the. The Trump Administration is allowing the keystone xl to proceed. The move reverses the obama administrations decision to block the controversial pipeline. The proposed pipeline would move crude oil from Canadas Oil Sands to the u. S. Gulf coast. Environmentalists say this process creates more pollution than standard oil extraction. Support for one of our states most well known democrats appears to be down. A new poll by the Public Policy institute of california shows a slump in senator Dianne Feinsteins approval rating.
