So it would create the independent Investigations Bureau a 14person team to investigate Police Shootings incustody deaths and allegations of excessive force. The unit would prosecute criminal cases and review court cases where officers accused of wrongdoing may have played a role. This is the latest push for more Police Oversight in San Francisco. Voters just passed a measure requiring the citys Police Watchdog agency the office of citizen complaints to investigate every Police Shooting that results in an injury. The measure being discussed today would rename that office the occ and turn it into the internal independent Investigations Bureau but it would also change who is heading up those investigations. In san diego county, authorities confirm that two bodies have been discovered in a rural area burned by the border fire. The remains are believed to be those of a couple reported missing after the wildfire began near potrero last week. The 7600acre fire is now 97 contained. It destroyed five homes and 11 outbuildings. Here in the bay area firefighters spent the night making sure a grass fire in martinez didnt reignite. The fire started just before 4 00 near rankin park. It burned more than 5 acres. A bay area movie theater, a young man found a seat and looked up at the screen and got stabbed repeatedly. It happened at santa rosas roxy theater around 4 p. M. Yesterday. Police cant find any motive for the crime. The 21yearold victim was just watching the movie when a man with a knife crept up from behind and stabbed him several times. Soon the suspect ran for the exit and horrified moviegoers rushed to help the victim who was sent to the hospital. Police acted quickly and arrested a 23yearold suspect reportedly a drifter who had been staying in town for a couple of months. Police think the crime could be linked to another random fatal stabbing that happened monday in santa rosa. We are told the victim in that case was a homeless person.
