There have been several coyote sightings over the past year in the city. In stern grove, the haight, panhandle and pacific heights. And there have been reports of attacks on cats and small dogs. Several have been killed. One just on saturday in balboa terrace. So supervisors and pet owners are asking the department of animal care and control and the rec and Parks Department what they are planning to do. One was killed including on saturday one in balboa terrace. One dog owner knows how quickly it can happen. We just saw a movement in the trees. And our little dog took off and ran towards it and the coyote was came out from behind the tree and grabbed him. And that little dog did die. It appears the city may not have options when it comes to dealing with these conflicts killing them presenting a whole new controversy in a city known for its love of animals. And relocation presents a lot of problems as well when it comes to state laws and under what circumstances you can relocate these animals. The hearing is at 10 a. M. Any advice for pet owners while the politicians come up with a plan . Yeah. In the meantime, they say, you know, you might want to keep a dog on a leash. Stay in more open areas because coyotes like dens sort of, like, wooded areas where they can sort of hide. So those are some of the pieces of advice that they are giving.
