A threeday manhunt ends in a standoff and police have a murderer in jail. It happened at a home on massachusetts avenue in redwood city yesterday evening. Anthony kirincic is accused of stabbing his girlfriend 34year old colleen straw to death in her san mateo home. Kirincic had been on the run since friday. Police tracked down his car to an urgent care clinic on saturday and eventually found him last night at a relatives home in redwood city. He is charged with firstdegree murder. They were able to safely take the suspect Anthony Kirincic into custody and i can report to you that he is under arrest by San Mateo Police department now on a 5 million arrest warrant for murder. Police are questioning a relative of kirincic who owns the house he was hiding in. President obama is wrapping up his crip to the u. N. Summit on Climate Change. In the Silicon Valley there is an accident in the clearing stages. It happened on the guadalupe parkway northbound approaching curtner. But they believe the fire started in an upstairs unit where three people live and below them a fiveperson family lived there. So a lot of families in this area. We actually saw several children wrapped in blankets trying to stay warm this morning. It made everyone really scared. My apartment right now is okay. So thank god everybody is good. Reporter the fire marshal told us that not only did he have to deal with all these fire trucks coming up to this hill to put out the fire but they also dealt with that sheared fire hydrant you can see. But the sensors along 680 are picking up very heavy traffic from beyond 242 in concord. Thats a hot spot as is highway 29 in the southbound direction and napa. Just before tubbs lane is where a big rig overturned off to the righthand shoulder. Chp tells us that both directions of 29 remain open. But very heavy traffic especially in that southbound direction. The bay bridge toll plaza backed up starting in the 5 00 with an earlymorning stall and accident. The 40foot boat got stuck on a seawall in the oakland estuary. The coast guard had to pull it to shore. The owner was steering out of the channeling and somehow landed on the wall. I want to stress the importance of staying in a navigable channel and following the charts. Im not coming back to the oakland estuary for a long time. It could be in the repair yard for months and it could cost over 100,000. New this morning, we are learning more about the fatal crash of the airasia flight last year. Investigators say it had a faulty rudder. The pilot tried to respond to the problem but it crashed into the ocean. The records show the plane had rudder problems 23 times in the year prior to the crash. 162 passengers on board were all killed. We saw people in blankets, one woman with an oxygen mask, everyone scared about what happened. The fire marshal explains what the scene looked like when they arrived.
