Senator feinstein wants to make it tougher for syrians and iraqis to enter the u. S. By targeting the Visa Waiver Program which allows fastrak into the u. S. Feinstein is trying to cut off what can be seen as a loophole in the program. Lets say france has had 2,000 people leave to go and fire. They are a visa waiver country so the people come back to france and then to the united states. So the bill we would proposal would strictly limit that and make very clear reporter House Republicans plan to introduce a bill today adding roadblocks for syrians and iraqis. The bill would require the fbi to conduct background checks and the department of Homeland Security would need to certify that the refugees were not a threat. All this is drawing criticism from representative mike honda and he said reporter the white house promises to veto the bill saying doing so he would undermine the efforts to bring refugees into the country. Surveillance video led investigators to arrest Edward Vanwright a 44yearold transient charged with trespassing and vandalism. San Francisco Police say there is no threat to the school, students or staff. New this morning rescue teams in napa will resume the search for a jet skier who disappeared last night. Police say the 50yearold woman was last seen near the napa valley marina. The coast guard and napa county sheriffs will use helicopters and boats to search for that missing woman. Woods has already been denied parole 15 times. Today the three drifters accused of two bay area killings will be arraigned in marin county. Now, in addition to the drifters case we were just talking about, kate steinle was also killed with a gun stolen from a car that one belonging to a federal bureau of Land Management ranger. Steinle was shot in broad daylight on pier 14 this summer a case most notable for reigniting the sanctuary city debate but also, gun control. Moving to the rest of the commute, if you plan to make the drive through san jose, that northbound drive on 101 is going to be slow. So expect those backups now approaching and passing mckee. The bay bridge toll plaza metering lights are on. And traffic has been crowded through the macarthur maze. I80 still flowing well through berkeley and emeryville. Once you pass the toll plaza, traffic does okay across bridge heading into San Francisco. Northbound 880 you can see some of the delays towards the top half of your screen. Critics blast the plan citing studies that link sugary drinks with health problems. Two men are dead after a helicopter crashed and burned in southern california.
