In most cases, it is a simple Computer Software update. But some cars could be getting new injectors or catalyzers. Volkswagen might even have to set up temporary specialist workshops to deal with complex cases. With all the various models in the country, vw has to come up with thousands of fixes. They set aside 7 billion to pay for the recall and will likely face steep fines from the epa for rigging those engines to trick smog detectors to allow the vehicles to emit 10 to 40 times the legal limit of pollution. U. S. Dealers were stunned with the stop sale order for affected vehicles. Its sad to think a few people have taken us down this path but together were going to work through this and come out better. I truly believe that. We have all the resources to make the customer whole and to make the dealer whole through this process. And im fully encouraged that we are going to be just fine as we walk through it. Reporter california has about 55,000 affected vehicles. A couple in healdsburg has filed a Class Action Lawsuit. Since customers pay a premium for the socalled clean diesel engines, they filed this lawsuit. Volkswagen has set up a website to enter your v. I. N. Number to see if you qualify for the recall. People are now back in their mill valley homes after they were evacuated abuse of a homeowner who tried to cut down a large tree. The evacuated homeowners were eventually allowed to return late last night. California is doubling down on its commitment to reduce pollution and fossil fuel use. Today the governor will sign a bill into law requiring half the states electricity to come from renewable sources by the year 2030. Clark saw a sharp drop in Breast Cancer rates after a National Health study linked the disease to hormone therapy for menopause. Since then, Breast Cancer has been on a steady decline in marin. Christie as of today she can now demand comparable pay to her male counterparts even if they work out of a Different Office or city and if they have a different title as long as their work is, quote, substantially similar. But maybe more importantly, she now has a right to ask how much her counterparts make. The law prohibits employer retaliation for discussing salaries but does not require employers to reveal salary information. Her male counterparts can make more if they have more experience or training. Up until now, discrimination retaliation were common place. Reporter the state senator who wrote the bill says while current laws protect people who discuss their own salaries, they dont protect those who ask about someone elses. Reporter when nature calls, time is of the essence. But managers at a South Sacramento dmv office say some of their employees arent watching the clock during their trips to the toilet. Iu local 1000 union a grievance was filed by one of the employees against a potty policy at a dmv call center off power end road. The union says dmv managers are deducting pay or leave time for employees that take more than 7 minutes on a bathroom break. Dmv spokesman jaime garza says, the dmv is aware of a grievance filed by the union and the dmv is in the process of preparing a response.
