Reporter as for the arch rock itself, it will likely never get repaired, no longer a tourist spot, but a warning of the risk along the mighty pacific. Its been a gray day across the bay area, so far not much in the way of rain, but that could change later tonight. Still ahead its the biggest test yet for self driving technology, the coast to coast trip that just set off from San Francisco. Dont count out those delivery drones just yet. The feds are giving amazon another chance a selfdriving car set off from San Francisco today for a coast to coast road trip. The plan is to navigate the 3,500 miles using Silicon Valley based delphis self driving technology. In case youre wondering, there will be somebody behind the wheel, but the driver will only take over when absolutely necessary. During the trip the company will be gathering data about the cars abilities on the highways. Were using radar and Vision Systems and those rely on the infrastructure as well as other vehicles around them for the car to make decisions. It wont be 100 hands free trip. Drivers will have to take over in states where there are restrictions on selfdriving cars. The faa may be softening its stance on amazons plans to launch a fleet of delivery drones. The online retailer wants to use drones as a delivery method one day. The Company Launched its plans more than a year ago but is facing tough restrictions from the faa. On thursday the federal agency gave amazon permission to test and experiment with certain drones for its fleet. Under the terms of the experimental permit drones can only be flown below 400 feet during the day and in clear weather and they also must remain in the line of sight of their operators. More proof the bay area job market is gaining strength, all nine counties have dropped below the statewide unemployment average. Kpix5s john ramos discovered theyre coming up with new ways to battle the effects of the drought. Reporter visitors to todays San Francisco flower and garden show in san mateo were greeted by the usual lush greenery, but inside the message was a little different. Some people are coming in with older gardens and going ive got this lob and ive lawn and ive turned the water off and its going brown. Reporter nearly every display featured hard scape materials and drought tolerant plants and when water was evident, it was of the recycled variety. One display entitled Living Waters captures rain coming off a roof, uses it to wash clothes, sends it through a decorative fountain and waters the garden without a drop coming from the tap. We dont have to change our aesthetic or intention in the garden. We just have to change our practices in the garden. Reporter we may soon have no choice in that. This morning Governor Brown made it clear that mandatory conservation may be coming. I think this has to be almost at the level of a crusade to wake people up and take the steps intelligently, carefully, but nevertheless forcefully from this point going forward. Reporter so far the state has not imposed tough measures, but once it does and the drought starts hitting people in the pocketbook, attitudes could change and the landscape designers here are eager to prove that conservation doesnt have to look ugly. If we could spread the word, i think we can a small amount of people can influence the masses. The 30th annual San Francisco flower and garden show ended its fiveday run today. Its the Third Largest event of its kind in the country. Arizona was fortunate enough to get some rain a couple days ago. This was the result, a magnificent double rainbow hanging over the phoenix skyline nearly 45 minutes. It was followed by rain, hail, lightning, but a beautiful sunset. Isnt that gorgeous . Its not easy to get the entire arc of a rainbow in any shot because you need a really wide angle lens to bring in the whole thing. Tonight clouds are moving in over the bay area, sun setting about now. As we look over high atop solano county, plenty of clouds tonight. Early tomorrow morning temperature in concord 62 degrees, san jose 63 now, low clouds and fog heading into the shoreline tonight and so is this cold front thickening out the low clouds along the shore so we can get some drizzle early evening, change to light rain in the north bay later in the evening and tonight scattered showers around the bay area tomorrow. In the east bay 67 antioch, 68 fairfield, cloudy skies, a few showers. A little more in the north bay, mid60s tomorrow, san rafael 65 degrees, santa rosa 64, mill valley 60 degrees, far north bay 64 for ukiah.
