Tonight weve learned the hiker who died was a 58year old woman from San Francisco. The other hiker is in the hospital and is expected to survive. Police forced open fire all over the bay area. Three officers shot three suspects just since last night. Two suspects died. One shooting happened early this morning at a 7eleven. Reporter an intense morning at this parking lot in front of the 7eleven, at least a shot fired inside the store, others fired outside. This particular officer involved shooting happened around 2 a. M. In what was a very violent night. According to santa clara pd, two officers came across an Armed Robbery in progress at this 7eleven. The officers saw the suspect aim a gun at the store clerk and fire a shot inside the store. After that police say the suspect came outside and confronted the officers. The suspect didnt listen to the officers commands and was shot and killed. We spoke with former San Francisco police chief and current professor at university of San Francisco who says given the fleury of shootings last night the best course of action for the three Police Agencies is transparency with the community. You know, sometimes they where at you and sometimes theyre they yell at you and sometimes theyre mad at you, but when its oh, they respect the fact you over, they respect the fact you talked to them. Reporter shortly before 7 p. M. Police say an officer tried to make a traffic stop at the intersection of 25th street and roosevelt avenue. The driver failed to stop and continued about 1 2mile down the road until he got out of the car and started to run. The officer and suspect shot at each other as they ran. Thats when the suspect who is identified as 19yearold Daniel Tolosa was hit by gunfire. He was arrested and transmitted to the hospital where he is expected to survive. The shooting in vallejo resulted in the death of that suspect, a man with a knife who confronted officers and refused to drop it when he was told to do so. The man was shot and killed. Officers later found a note in that mans car apologizing for police for forcing them to end his life. Well switch gears on this sunday evening and take a live look outside.
