New at 6 00 a major policy shift in washington with huge implications for sanctuary cities like San Francisco. Ken bastida with us to lay it all out. Reporter yeah. You know, a lot of people knew about this case. This policy change, though, is being very quietly implemented. But it was sparked by the huge uproar over the kate steinle case. Steinle was shot to death last july. The man who was arrested Juan Francisco lopezsanchez was an illegal immigrant and a felon who had been deported five times after his last release from prison, immigration asked San Francisco sheriff Ross Mirkarimi to hold him for deportation. That did not happen. San francisco is a socalled sanctuary city. Well, the new policy gives immigration authorities now the first claim to inmates leaving federal prison who are tagged for deportation. There may be local cases that may not be able to be prosecuted because again the person will be taken into i. C. E. Custody and then deported. And if a jurisdiction has a concern over that, we will talk to them. We would have to have assurances that i. C. E. Would also then be able to get the individual back. The attorney general was testifying before the Senate Appropriations committee whose members vow to withhold federal funding from sanctuary cities that fail to comply with this new policy. So theres a political price to pay, as well. Many feel that San Francisco sheriff Ross Mirkarimis refusal to turn over Lopez Sanchez actually contributed to him losing his job. He is not the sheriff anymore. Probably did. Thank you. Facebooks Ceo Mark Zuckerberg is furious at his staff for defacing black lives matter slogans at work. No, not to help build her credit but to prevent id thieves from destroying it. We wanted to freeze her credit. For adults, the credit or security freeze is a simple secure online process. For a child, it is anything but. Step one, you have to create a credit file. In most states, two of the three bureaus wont freeze a kids credit without a credit history. So since kids cant apply for credit, i added my toddler as an authorized user on my credit card which created a file. Not a report or a score, but a file in her name that i could then freeze. Step two, verify guardianship. To free the childs credit freeze the childs credit parents must submit Social Security cards, birth certificates and other sensitive documents. John, tell me about the histor of the tournament. How about your grandmother winning it. Mrs. Dennis James Odonnell and my grandmother was known as the golfing grandma. She won it four times the city championship. Beautiful. But i think its indicative, john, of the rich history enjoyed in San Francisco. This is the longest running championship in the world. Yeah. I said this many times publicly that i dont think theres another area of the country that has as much tradition and history as San Francisco and this Golf Championship here held it presidio lincoln park and harding park where i am tonight is 100 years and just an awesome championship over the years. So many great stories. We have a fellow here tonight ken townes won it in 1964. He is 85. He was a Police Officer at the time.
