One of the chp motorcycles was involved in the wreck. Demarcus ware tweeted this photo. You can see some of the players standing next to the bus. Several of the broncos team buses were escorted by chp motorcycles. Looks like they were southbound 101 on 237 when they may have come upon slower traffic. For reasons still under investigation, looks like some of the buses collided with one another. One of our chp motorcycles did go down. The question is, what are they going to find . And what are they going to change . Heres the story. [ chanting ] reporter with demonstrators chanting outside city and federal officials gathered inside the Federal Building to announce a voluntary to me top to bottom review of the troubled San Francisco Police Department. And their use of force and their practices. [ sirens ] reporter the review is in response to growing criticism of the Police Shooting of mario woods, an African American who was shot 15 times by police after refusing to drop a knife that he allegedly used in an earlier slashing. The review will examine whether racial or ethnic disparities exist with respect to Enforcement Actions taken and not taken by the San Francisco Police Department. This is about building trust. Were all working together to make sure we do everything we can to rebuild trust. [ chanting ] reporter woods family and the American Civil Liberties union have asked for a full blown federal civil rights investigation. The civil rights investigation is what was done in ferguson where you had the department of justice send a team of lawyers there who conducted an exhaustive investigation and came up with reforms it enforced. The department of justice will continue to pursue. Is what we would call soft review. So its not going to go far enough for you . There will be a report out of it. But theres no enforcement behind it. Unless you have the Civil Rights Division getting involved, you wont see real change. Reporter nothing were doing today would nothing would preclude the civil rights coming in if circumstances existed. Reporter theres also a political end to this, as well. Mayor lee by handing it to the feds getting it out of city hall. He says i have an impartial observer coming in to make recommendations. It could also help the chief. Instead of putting him with the radical critics demanding for a complete stop of force and his firing, he could have an impartial judge as well. The hearing starts later this month. But there have been countless shootings here over the years. Families simply avoid the park. But the next door neighbors cant. I feel like a prisoner in my own home. I have come out multiple times to find a man pants down injecting himself in his [bleep] i cant have family come to my building because its that bad.
