Its very clear that its dangerous, but, yeah if People Choose to ignore that, then its pretty dangerous. Reporter the waves near the fort were calm this afternoon. But park rangers say that wasnt the case earlier this week. Some swells were around 15 feet high just pounding at the shoreline. Many park users noticed signs of erosion on the beach. You can see debris on the beach that certainly the tide has come right in to where the cliffs start. A little worrisome i guess when you think about the beach integrity. Protestors disrupting mayor lees inauguration ceremony. The chanting fire chief suhr as the mayor was sworn in for his second full term in office. The protestors were demanding justice after the shooting death of mario woods by San Francisco police. Kpix 5s emily turner on the swearingin ceremony that got out of control. Emily . Reporter you know, chaos is the right word to describe it. Also, loud. As far as inauguration go, this wasnt a very successful one. But when it comes to what the protestors wanted, which was to be heard, for them at least thats one success. Independent investigation fire chief suhr charge these cops with murder murder reporter those are the demands of the justice for Mario Woods Coalition shouted from the city hall steps. But the real show happened inside just before during the swearingin of mayor ed lee. [ chanting ] fire chief suhr reporter the coalition and a group of unrelated protestors filled the second floor for the ceremony. Their chants to fire San Francisco police chief greg suhr and mayor lee were so loud they stopped the ceremony several times. [ screaming ] thank you, we heard you. We heard you. Reporter the situation won the sympathy of Dianne Feinstein and glaring looks from governor brown. Even the chorus was drowned out. Chief suhr walked out of the ceremony while his officers handled the protestors upstairs. At least five were arrested. Some threw water and coffee and the audience below. She didnt do anything reporter the Sheriffs Office special Response Team had to come in to handle the crowd before they peacefully and loudly left the building. Dont do nothing to give these murderers the reason to kill anybody else reporter maybe it was coincidence. But when protestors finally stopped yelling, mayor lee said this in one of his few parts of his speech we could actually hear. I wont stop until we build better trust between Law Enforcement and the communities they are sworn to protect. Reporter and we wanted to know what mayor lee thought about all of these protestors and all of the disruptions today but beyond what he said behind the podium today, that was just about it. He was not available for comment. In fact, we went to his office this afternoon to see if we could get an interview. His staff told us no. Reporting live at city hall, emily turner, kpix 5. Kpix 5s phil matier joining us. Phil its supposed to be ed lees moment but its filled with embarrassment. Reporter and not an image you want sent out on the eve of the super bowl when everybody is going to be paying attention to San Francisco but it did happen and it even drew some comments from the governor and from u. S. For Dianne Feinstein. Herself a former mayor and not one who is a stranger to such situations. Lets take a listen to what she had to say. I think i can say its good to be home. But im not too sure about that. Reporter thats sort of the mixed message that went out from city hall today. Now, a lot of politics is perception. Mayor lees big challenge after this is to say who he is. Is he someone actually in command . The images that we sauteed questioning him, questioning his control of city hall with the gazes from the governor wondering whats going on, could possibly reinforce the slide that the mayor has been seeing in his personal read among voters that have slipped dramatically since he took office. Its an interesting twist of events sort of stacking up tensions over the direction and affordable the city of, homeless problems and now this. These are political veterans, Dianne Feinstein she was mayor of San Francisco. Jerry brown was mayor of oakland. They had to see Something Like this coming. This wasnt a complete surprise was it . No, it wasnt. No, it wasnt. As a matter of fact, this morning, when the Mayors Office knew that this was going to be happening, they actually tried to sort of stack you can see the people there, they brought in hundreds of people to sort of fill the auditorium in the hopes that the protestors would be left in the back. That didnt happen because they got loud and they got the attention. The mario woods issue its going to be remaining. We have the video of that. This is a shooting that took place in the bayview and this has gone viral. Whats going to happen now likely in San Francisco as this works its way through the process both the judicial and the commission we are going to see more protests like this in San Francisco because you have the video, you have the location, and you have a mayor thats going to be in the National Spotlight throughout the super bowl and my prediction is we are going to be seeing more not less of it. That sporting event is going to be seen around the world and they are going to look for a stage like that most likely. Thank you. New at 6 00 a big blow to congressman mike hondas campaign.
