On forest avenue on christmas night. 31 year old william raft called 911 to report a false emergency. Raft charged at the officers when they arrived. A Cleveland Police officer will not face charges in the shooting death of a 12 year old holding a pellet gun. An ohio grand jury decided not to indict the officer in the death of tamir rice in 2014. A witness who called 911 reported the gun was probably fake, but that was not passed on to the two patrol officers. The prosecutor said it was clear rice reached for his waste band, but there was no way for officers to know the gun was not real. The death of tamir rice was an absolute tragedy. But it was not by the law that binds us a crime. Rices family released a statement saying they were saddened, but not surprised by the decision by the grand jury. In the past, youd be asked to follow a doctors finger so they can check your eye movement. If youre an athlete, youd be taken off the field, told to go home and rest and stay in a dark room. For athletes, it can keep them off the bench and back in the game. They may be complaining, but their eye tracking is normal. Well put them back into play.
