A business to request a delivery and track the driver much like uber riders do with the app. In most cases, the consumer wont know their items are being delivered by uber until they get a confirmation email or text. And when that delivery arrives, it may not necessarily be on four wheels. It opens up the platform not only to driver partners but also to a new set of bike delivery partners. Reporter those Uber Partners get 75 of the delivery fee which isnt necessarily cheap. Three bucks for the first mile and three for each mile thereafter. Uber says the average fee is somewhere between 6 to 9 which may or may not be passed on to you. Its up to the Small Business owner to decide if they are going to cover that cost or if they are going to pass it along to the customer. Reporter like all the delivery apps before it uber was rolled out in a few major cities including San Francisco and when they tested this out in new york they had a courier option so folks like us could use uber to say go pick up something you left at work but they found businesses were much more likely to use it so thats where they are focusing their energy. Their solution to homelessness of is housing. Reporter what can do you about these people . We can work with them to get them into a shelter. They wont allow sex offenders in there. Reporter where do you sleep . Hotels. Just had to leave our hotel now because they wont rent us a room for more than a week. I have to try to find another hotel. Reporter now, its interesting. Los angeles and portland are both facing similar problems and they have declared a state of emergency. But theres one spot which likely will receive zero rainfall and thats right here in the bay area because to our south, exhibit a is this low which will pass by to our south. Well get the humidity. Now we look the other direction to the north and we have a low pressure area which will slam into the pacific northwest. Could see an inch of rainfall up there. But for us at the southern periphery of the front, theres not much juice. Theres not much jet stream energy. Not much of a reason for this front to yield any rainfall so of temperatures drop again. It will be cloudy on saturday. But as for rainfall it may be a few drips here and there and most likely spot will be the north bay. We have an inhouse computer model we call futurecast. We are going to roll it over the next couple of days. It is picking up light precipitation mainly on saturday. All scattered throughout the bay area. Im here to tell you that the greatest focus will be north of the golden gate. Thats you in solano county, napa, sonoma county, marin county, mendocino and lake county.
